He has aged badly
Meh. People age differently. He's a year older now (64), than Alec Guinness was (63) in the first movie.
He's a lib, out-and-out, but this is a class move on his part. Good on him.
Not as bad as Carrie Fisher.

His appearance took a dramatic turn for the worse between the first film and the second.
It was surprising to see how different his face looked when seeing Empire Strikes Back at the theater.
My guess was that he had gotten into smoking crack — it has that effect of making the facial muscles crater and collapse.
Or it could just have been alcohol, or insomnia or something else.
I saw him in another film earlier this year - Kingsman: The Secret Service. I totally failed to recognize him. It wasn't until I read somewhere that there was a Star Wars reference in the film related to Mark Hamill's appearance in the film that I knew he was in it. I had to look up Kingsman on IMDB to find out who Hamill had played. He actually had a fairly major role and I had no idea it was him.
