The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) nullified a 30-year ban on blood donations from gay and bisexual men.
The FDA ban, which went into effect during the 1980s AIDS crisis, prohibited blood from gay men as a way to stop transmission of HIV. Many early cases of AIDS and HIV resulted from blood transfusions, as was the case with tennis superstar Arthur Ashe.
However, the new policy will not accept âdonations from men who have had sex with another man in the previous year.â Australia and the United Kingdom also use the 12-month window.
âUltimately, the 12-month deferral window is supported by the best available scientific evidence, at this point in time, relevant to the U.S. population,â explained Dr. Peter Marks, deputy director of the FDAâs biologics division.
The FDA said after Australia changed to the 12-month deferral, officials evaluated âmore than 8 million units of donated bloodâ with a ânational blood surveillance system.â
Gay activists admitted it is a âstep in the right direction,â but said that more needs to be done....

What could go wrong?
THE BEST AVAILABLE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE DEMANDS YOU PAY CARBON TAX TO STOP THE WORLD FROM WARMING UP !!
Everyone involved in this needs to be stuck with an IV full of AIDS infected blood.
So “men having sex with men” not being able to donate blood is discriminatory! Why do they discriminate against these people? These people at the FDA should lose their jobs for imposing this restriction on being able to donate blood!! Off with their heads! Don’t they know that the Supreme Court ruled against this discrimination?? It is legal for homosex marriage therefore men who are married to each other cannot possibly be restricted to not giving blood! Why does the FDA not allow for these “loving couples” to donate their blood? /s
Time for families to bank blood for their use only.

FDA lifts ban on gay men dying of aids and riddled with communicable diseases who wish to donate blood
Will be the next headlines
What did the patient's rights activists have to say?
Political scientists made this decision, scientists who’s politics rules their science.
I don’t recall if I required blood during my last two spine surgeries, I don’t think so, but you can be damn sure next surgery I will be donating to myself in advance from now on if I have any choice in the matter.
Significant restrictions still apply. Yes, but they too will fall so that even men with AIDS will one day be able to give blood. These people never stop their advancement.
Given that the 1% of the population who are “Men who have sex with men” (MSM) account for something like 75% of HIV and HepC cases, the FDA is taking the largest, most obvious vector for the disease and ADDING IT back to the risk pool
If it’s ok then I want the ruling elite to get the same blood as normal people.
Insanity.
Kramer did.
Pathophysiology by administration fiat.
More lib magical thinking.
“However, the new policy will not accept ââ¬Ådonations from men who have had sex with another man in the previous year.ââ¬Â “
And the population is supposed to believe a man that lets another man put his penis in his rectum?
I don’t think so
Remember the Ryan White scam? The kid was infected with HIV by being transfused with blood from a gay guy. The Gays used the media to turn the whole thing around and gain sympathy for gays instead of the kid who was infected by dirty blood. Black is white and white is black.
Not to worry. It excludes high risk gay men who have had sex within the last 12 months. So if you went on a fudgepacking bender for the last 3 days and showed up at the blood bank to sell your blood and marked the 12 month box no, you are home free...nnless of course they invented a breatholyzer test for blood/fudge levels.
Not to mention that 1% now accounts for 85% of Syphilis cases.
The CDC has a long of of risk factors associated with the gay lifestyle that the media won’t talk about.
Western civilization, populated by the dumbest people to ever walk the face of the Earth.
Assuming that’s the blood that you’d actually receive.
