If recent polls from more than half a dozen reputable polling organizations are to be believed, of the six leading Republican candidates for president Donald Trump is the one least likely to defeat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election.
Polling can be and has often been wrong, sometimes spectacularly so, but Trump's electability gap has been a consistent feature of his primary campaign as a fire-breathing self-funding willing-to-say-anything non-politician politician.
However, even if you believe (as I do) the conventional wisdom that Hillary Clinton is "clearly itching to run against Mr. Trump," he nevertheless poses a substantial threat to her presidential aspirations in advance of November's elections.
The Donald has a remarkable ability to break through conventional restrictions on acceptable political conversation and to make people think about issues in ways opponents call "extreme" but which resonate among much of the American public. Beyond his often nativist and economically illiterate base, he is having this effect, whether for good or for ill, on millions of Americans who would not consider voting for Mr. Trump in a general election.
It's not so much that Donald Trump breaks new ground in his pronouncements; rather he amplifies what many are already thinking even if in some cases, such as his persistent denigration of free trade as "America losing" or the suggestion that most Mexican illegal aliens are dangerous criminals, the Trump base and their brash human amplifier are wrong.

Trump is supported by a large amount of Americans.
Even some, who would tend otherwise, toward the Democrat party.
He is poised to win big.
The Democrats seem to have no clue how close their excesses have pushed them toward losing the white working class vote - forever.
Summary of article: Trump points at all the nobles and tells us they have no cloths on.
“He is poised to win big.”
And the new Quinnipiac poll (with more to come) showing Cruz as the latest to attempt to bring down Trump mean one thing. The media is scared to death of him and know Hitlery would have no problem with Cruz or any one else. I think Trump could win in a landslide. I think Cruz would lose in a landslide. I like Cruz as a VP pick for Trump. Then he could run on his own in 4 years because he would established and still be in his 40s and Trump would be 75 and wanting to stay home with his grandchildren.
Unless the republican nominee is willing get into the gutter to fight hillary, he/she has no chance to win.
Men like Trump don’t retire. If he wins you can be assured he’ll run for re-election. That said, Cruz will be a far better national candidate after 8 years as Trump’s apprentice.
What Trump offers the American people is someone to give a voice to what they feel.
Hillary Clinton has never really been challenged.
I now believe that when Clinton was facing all the scandals while President, many of which should have brought him down, the Republican party intentionally mishandled everything so they came off looking bad, and Clinton was allowed to skate. Note they all managed to shift blame to others such as Rush Limbaugh.
What scares the UNI-party is that Trump can not be controlled. Because of that, I worry for Trumps safety.
I also worry about our nation if something should happen to Trump. The left seems to be totally deaf to the warning bells being rung across this country (indeed the world).
It is sort of like the build up to WWI when all the leaders misunderstood what was happening, and millions lost their life (and the world changed forever).
Yeah I sort of agree with everything you said.
Good post.
I do agree that all of this “Trump can’t win” business is nonsense. Judging by the crowds he is attracting, it doesn’t line up with the polling data.
Trump clearly scareds the democRATS and the media. They keep repeating the mantra “Trump can’t/won’t win”. The evidence to the contrary is ample and out in the open for all to see.
Is he the ideal candidate, no. Is he better than Cruz? that’s open to debate. Anyone else? Demonstrably true.
What the GOPe is afraid of, is if Trump wins the nomination and the general election, he would be in control of the GOP. That’s what scares them the most.

He picks at them until they are forced out of their comfort zone and to a place where they become angry and brittle.
Hillary was born angry and brittle...and Trump will cause her to snap like a twig.
Trump will also force Hillary and her staff into a daily battle on the news and twitter. Hillary is not a daily person. She works one day and then retires from the scene to rest for a while.
Trump will give her no rest. She and her staff will work overtime returning Trump's barbs.
It's gonna get ugly (which is a good thing for Trump and the country, because it will expose the real Hillary).
All that you say is true,
And I have no idea how they’ll do it yet, but Trump and Cruz will both be taken down,
Hillary is the NWO pick, so John McCain and the Lindsey Graham wing of the GOP including Jeb and his daddy will all be voting for her in the general election. The MSM will be singing her chorus,
I believe the same thing. And I also believe that Marco Rubio now becomes the designated loser to Hillary.
The Media and the elites in both parties have IGNORED our cries of pain....Trump is a bloodless way of having a Revolution in this country....Once an “outsider” is elected, the whole damn system is done for.....
You are correct. The DC Uni-Party, including the media (Fox, too!) have alienated and insulted us for too long. We are finished with them!

Read that again, Trump fanbois.
