Disgusted, yes. Shocked, no. That's what Kevin McConnell feels after learning that Ethan Couch — the teenager who killed four people and injured several others, including McConnell's then 12-year-old son Lucas, while driving drunk on a Texas road - is on the lam.
In the McConnells' view, Couch was never held accountable.

On the night of June 15, 2013, Couch and some friends stole beer from a Walmart. They started drinking and then hit the road, with Couch behind the wheel.
That same evening, Hollie Boyles and her daughter Shelby left their home to help Breanna Mitchell, whose SUV had broken down by the side of a road. Brian Jennings, a youth pastor, was driving past and also stopped to help.
Couch plowed into them, killing them all.

Is the judge still on the bench? It’s bad enough that the attorney used the excuse, but for the judge to rule in that favor is just terrifying.
With any luck at all Ethan Couch will get into a high-speed chase and crash into the judges car.
If that’s not the look of a sociopath I don’t know what is.

Like my Irish daddy used to tell me....if a kid was runnin wild through the countryside in old Ireland...the locals would get a shotgun, take it to his father and tell him to “fix” the situation, permanently.

He got 10 years probation.
A few years earlier - before the same judge - Eric Miller, 16 year old son of a local welfare recipient, stole a truck while drunk and killed one person.
He got 20 years in state prison.

Days later, his probation officer said that he failed to appear for his probation meeting and that neither he nor his mother could be contacted or located.
