Trump Likes Putin Endorsement Despite His Thuggery: ‘At Least He’s A Leader’

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said Friday that he appreciated Russian president Vladimir Putin's endorsement of him in spite of his aggression against other countries and reported violence against political foes, saying "at least he’s a leader."

Putin praised Trump this week as "bright and talented," and Trump released a statement of gratitude about the former KGB agent. Upon calling into MSNBC's Morning Joe, Trump was asked again about the warm words.

"When people call you brilliant, it's always good, especially when the person heads up Russia," Trump said.

The talk is that Trump has “no foreign relations experience”

Trump has business dealings all over the world. In most countries - and I know because I worked in Europe in the 90s - business deals are mini-diplomatic endeavors. Trump has more foreign policy diplomacy experience than Obama ever had.

you really think so?

<><><<

Putin’s career as a KGB guy demonstrates to me that he would like nothing more than for the US to fall into the scrap heap of history, much as Putin’s beloved USSR has.

Putin supports that which makes him stronger. And he will use his strength to subvert the interests of the US.

So yea, I really think that his support for Trump is cynical and self serving.

So you think that when Trump is president Putin will embrace democracy and give up his plans to restore the Soviet empire while defeating the U.S.?

The stupid began when you claimed Putin is trying to restore the USSR.

The second part is Putin stood for elections and won. Russia under Putin is the freest and most democratic it has ever been. Freer than under the Czars, under the Mongols and freer than under the Viking overlords. Freer than it was under the USSR. Before you bring up Yeltsin, he fired on his own parliament.

I don’t think that there is any dispute that Putin is a nationalist for Russia. Although Russia’s interests may conflict with American interests, a better outcome can be achieved through cooperation of leaders acting in their people’s best interests.

0bama is certainly NOT a nationalist; he’s a globalists/jihadist. He basically has a 100% record of acting against the interests of US citizens. There is much less likelihood of achieving meaningful cooperation is this situation with a leader like Putin. Many of the current Republican candidates also fit into this globalist non-American category because they can be easily compromised via lobbying, special interests etc. Most of these Republican candidates would follow the example of rino Ryan and McConnell with respect to important foreign & domestic policy decisions.

So if the totalitarian/globalist/Jihadi coalition wants a world war, a compromised president will give it to them. Same thing with a police state, open borders, carbon taxes, bail-outs. It doesn’t matter if the people are against it because the puppet media and police/surviellence state will suppress popular opposition.

Putin is not expected to act in the interest of the American people. However, our current regime and many of the GOP prospects are clearly intent on subverting the interests of the people which obviously makes us more vulnerable to someone like Putin.

You are not a good mind reader.

My commentary was about Vladimir Putin and his bromance with Trump. Period.

You go ahead and trust Putin’s motives on everything he does. I will not.

Putin is smart enough to see that Trump is likely the next President and why not get off to a good start with him. :-)

Notice how the press hasn’t mentioned that Obama was endorsed by the Communist Party USA.

No one is trying to recreate the USSR - that is just stupid. Seriously, you actually think this? Putin has been in office for a decade now - how’s the restoration of the USSR going? When will it kick in?

“Putin is anxious to defeat America. He would like to see our economy destroyed, our military in disarray, and our intelligence capability completely compromised.

That is why he is supporting Trump.”

Then he should have loved Obama. But didn’t. Another straw man argument blown to smithereens.

Putin loves Obama as much as Trump. But he treats them differently because they are different kinds of stupid.

Oh get a clue. Russia is facing $30 a barrel oil. They are a one trick pony on GDP. They sell oil/gas, some wheat and some armaments. That’s about it. There GDP is about 1/10th of ours. Putin is not a threat to the US and he also does not want ISIS in Russia. He is looking for a good relationship with the US because it will benefit Russia.

Putin sees Trump as the likely next president of the USA and wants to get off to a good start.
