The trailer looks like a mish-mash of outtakes. Looks like a remake of ST3, with different aliens substituting for Klingons.

It does look better than the last bunch, but those were crap.
I recommend a look at:

(Also on YouTube, if the streaming is better.)
It remains pretty faithful to the original series right down to the sets and props.
Oh jeez I just read this:
“Written by Simon Pegg...”
That man wrote one somewhat funny movie, and everything else he’s done since then has fallen flat.
At least the old Star Trek waited until they had a lot of success before they started letting the crew members write scripts and screw it all up!
Yes but you just can’t see the retrofit flux capacitor in the glove box.
Fix the shields? I think their limited resources should first be used to install seatbelts
B5 did something with a motorcycle that was really good.
Garibaldi had a Kawasaki in pieces and the manual except it was in Japanese.
Lennier built the bike and got it to run using a Minbari power source.
Why do they even still *have* the Enterprise? Kahn had that personal portable transporter dohickie that could send him from earth directly to Klingon space. Between that thing and Dr. McCoy’s miracle back-to-life serum you’d think life would be easy-peasy for the Star Fleet Set.
The whole franchise has been turned on its head with these JJ Abrams movies. I just hope the SOB doesn’t screw up another franchise dear to my heart
And put in seat belts!
I just watched the episode about ‘Apollo’, where they had the same actor playing him as in the original series episode.
At first, it felt tepid and weird, but it started to grown on me. Marina Sirtis is the computer voice.
Can they also take out Benedict Cumberbatch?
Now. Shall we begin?
Yup!
I thought it was converted to some magic Star Trek Power Source, like a Mr. Fusion Tesla Corvette Stingray.
I hate, really hate, what he did to Star Trek...major reason I don’t plan to see the new Swars.
Plus, Mythbusters fans will recognize the guy who plays Sulu.
The episodes are not all great, but I still expect something great when a new one comes out. I couldn’t say that about today’s Star Trek movies.
I should have pointed out that it’s the same length and screen dimensions as a 1960s TV series. They tried hard to be authentic.
I thought they did a fine job, I couldn’t find any nits to pick, and I’m good at that when it comes to attention to detail. :)
Faux Trek
Faux Trek: Into Dorkness
Faux Trek: Beyond Crap
What a treat.
The aliens should be humpback whales, that would at least be kinda fun.
I think... they needed to go...
my original concept--
You playing my part... illogical!
And Bendy, don't forget it needs a naked... love scene--
Between me... and a major character!
It has that, Leela, but... Amy got the part.
If you ask me, it needs a heroic... County Agent--
It needs... dancing!
We had dancing... in the original--
Well, I liked it but over all it needs... salt--
Obviously, they’re not trying anymore with the Star Trek franchise.
