Recently I went to see a play at an Off-ÂBroadway theatre that I love, a production I found remarkably profound. I was in town for only a day, and redeye jetlag fatigue or not, I was going to the show if I could find an affordable ticket. What I didnât predict was that the show would lead to a confrontation with microaggressions and white privilege. Turns out the social conflict wasnât just happening on the stage.
I got to the box office and asked the staff if they had any discounts. The price that they offered wasnât low enough for me to afford that evening. (My recent playwright award check hadnât been received yet, okay?)

Racist! You’re denying this SJW her right to Black Privilege.
;^)
Here we go——another “poor me” racial rant.
I wish I hadn’t wasted time reading it.
.
She called the act she did for me âcharity.â I told her I didnât need her charity.
But you accepted tickets from her, gratis, because you couldn't afford them. Guess you did need her "charity" after all. Leftists are liars.
I was beyond enraged. In five more seconds, this was going to turn ugly. In five more seconds, Jane was going to provoke the touch of my butterscotch palm across her cheek.
And now we see why some leftists like 'gun control'. They themselves are bubbling cesspools of irrational rage. They project their own mental, moral, and spiritual deficiencies on the rest of us.
I never read these things. The headline and excerpt are enough. Holy crap! This woman is decidedly stupid!
Let me see if I have this right:
If I tell someone to be quiet at a theater, then I am racist? Because only black people talk in a theater?
The fact that someone assumes that only black people talk in a theater means that they are the racist, not me.
I don’t give a crap what color your skin is, if you talk in the theater then you are going to that special hell (Firefly fans know what I’m talking about.)
And she's the aggrieved party?
Amazing.
I got this stuff in school in the early and mid 90s. The story goes that Black culture has a history of sounding back. When the tribal elder told a story the audience responded vocally. Same thing goes for Black churches, the bait and call between the preacher and the congregation is supposedly a cultural heritage brought form West Africa. Oddly, one can see a movie in West Africa without this sort of thing going on.
Personally, it appears more as a sign of a lack of intellectual development when someone cannot sit still and listen and wait for an appropriate time to respond. Also, we have become so incredibly self centered that anything I might think or do is the center upon which the universe rotates.
Yeah, but what can we do? If asking a person to behave is license for them to physically assault you, there really is no way we can share the same space at any time. So is every check on any black person’s behavior, whatever that behavior is, white-privileged and micro-aggression? Think about the implications. White people can do no right and black people can do no wrong. Even when black people do wrong to other black people, it’s white people’s fault. A white person walking down the street is -privileged and micro-aggression, so they deserve to be punched out. The logical conclusion to all white people deserve to die. That’s now exactly what the victimization mafia think. How can we live side by side with that?
Mike Gallagher, who goes to the movies and plays all the time, said many times that blacks talk out loud in these venues!!!
Jane was going to provoke the touch of my butterscotch palm across her cheek.
Regardless of what “Jane” said it is no excuse for violence. Why do people justify violence as a result of words from others? If a person can’t control themselves over someone else’s words then they are the one with the problem.
I lifetime of welfare mentality will do that to a person.
It’s really worse than that though. She was behaving badly and believes she had the right to physically assault someone who called her out on it. She believes everything a white person does is white-privileged and micro-aggression and punishable.
Oh, consider that line/idea so stolen. It is perfect in its simplicity.
Your analysis is great. So Scrooge was actually this misunderstood really nice guy who employed the otherwise unemployable Crachitt to help out his son Tim.
Free ticket or not, it is not unreasonable to expect a little decorum during any show. Now if she had a free ticket to a punk rock concert I would agree.
Just from what was posted above, was the author demanding a “black discount” or something?
She can enjoy her future career doing community theater in Gary, Indiana, and Old White People can enjoy going to productions where fellow patrons don't abuse them for being charitable.
That’s how it works. And it’s not just blacks, anymore.
I remember sitting there wondering, "why are they shouting at the screen"?
Personally, I think the whole story is made up.
