CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- After photos surfaced on social media showing Citadel cadets in white Klan hoods and reportedly singing Christmas carols, a source close to the school said all of the members of the group have been identified.
In a statement from The Citadel's Lt. Gen. John Rosa, the cadets "were singing Christmas carols as part of a 'Ghosts of Christmas Past' skit. These images are not consistent with our core values of honor, duty and respect."
Rosa goes on to identify the student in blue as an upperclassmen. Rosa said suspension proceedings had begun for the students involved, but the investigation was ongoing.
In the Facebook post, a girl was reportedly "threatened, harassed and offered money from numerous Citadel Cadets to take it offline in order to not 'ruin their lives.'"
A person with knowledge of what's going on and knowledge of the school's rituals between upperclassmen and freshmen said administrators and officers are trying to assess the situation. The person also said this is in one of the barracks at The Citadel, and that based on the way the men in white hoods are standing, they are likely first year students, knows as "knobs," and this could be considered a form of hazing.

Boy, that was a STUPID thing to do.
Those aren’t klan hoods.
The guy in blue looks to be bald. That’s pretty old for an upperclassmen.
This is the same cadet corps that jumped for joy when the first woman cadet dropped out. Meanwhile, another military college in a neighboring state had had women cadets for 20 years before that happened with no problems at all. The Citadel passes for a military school but sometimes acts more like a reform school.
Ghosts are outlawed now, they look too much like Klansmen.
Yep. Still, in this climate, we have to imagine what psycho leftists will think before we act. They are in complete control until people like Cruz or Trump shake things up.
My Alma Mater has been totally taken over by a bunch of pansies.
This is not The Citadel I attended.
Junior Sword Drill used to shave their heads during their "tryouts."
Looks as if he might have been one. Top junior NCO's tryout. Their one and only performance is at the Ring Ball when Seniors receive their class rings.
Bond Volunteers, who's top performers become the elite drill team The Summerall Guards are not allowed to shave their heads but must have it cut close enough that only a pair of tweezers can grab a hair. (And when I was a BV and later became a Summerall Guard, we certainly wanted no part of the Ashley River's stinking, putrid mud in our hair, so it was a true blessing.
I attended The Citadel’s “Twilight Parade” just last month, and was very impressed with the Corps’ precision and bearing on Summerall Field. Unfortunately, I had grabbed a copy of “The Brigadier” at the bookstore, and was quite disappointed with the thinness of an article bearing on the muslim invasion (my word) of Europe. It kind of deflated my image of the Corps overall...although I still think I’d want my granddaughter to be able to attend there.
(Great football season by the way....)
They actually look like condoms.
“Meanwhile, another military college in a neighboring state had had women cadets for 20 years before that happened with no problems at all.”
Would you provide the name of the “...military college in a neighboring state...”?
Doesnt matter if this was the snowmens brigade, these guys are too stupid to attend a puvlic school let alone one for leadership. Give them mops.
The guy with the cell phone filming while this photo is snapped.....Darwin Awards for all.
North Georgia? It was co-ed when it opened at the end of reconstruction.
KI agree— I wonder were they under inquiry for singing Christmas Carols? Or for bad Democratic Party imitation?
Old Corps here
Gross Poor Judgement
180 Tours and 39 Demerits for the senior in the picture.
The knobs nothing, at least they are not getting beaten while just hangin’ around.
84’
He’s a senior, note the ring.
Don’t see anything in the pic that resembles an El Cid ring. Shiny object appears not to be on a ring finger.
Most we had from '67 through '71 was 6 months restrictions and 120 tours.
Some genius in one of the duckbutt companies in 3rd Battalion got this for dressing his girlfriend in full-dress salt and pepper for a parade just before graduation in '70. Walked his ass off for a straight week so he could graduate. Boo was on him like stink on dog crap after the parade when a lock of her hair fell out of the shako in front of the reviewing stand.
I like what the genius did—ballsy and funny.
The most we could get (I was in the same year as the genius) was a #1, which was 15 (demerits) 4 (months barracks confinement) and 60 (penalty tours). One of my roommates got 2 of them.
Ahhh, memories:
The bad thing about the “Wednesday and Saturday Afternoon Hiking and Gun Club” was that we could only walk off 5 a week, 2 hours on Wednesdays and 3 on Saturdays, both of which happened to be the only times we were allowed to go into Lexington. I wonder who thought that up? It certainly made life inconvenient.
