Each had his own reasons, but back in the 1930s each of those men thought that the Nazis were, well, just a bunch of swell guys. Never mind that the Nazis were violent, both in words and in deeds.
I mention this because we are seeing the same thing today. Our betters are lining up to tell us that there is nothing wrong with Islamic culture. Never mind that culture's violence, both in words and in deeds.
But I do see a dangerous parallel between now and the 1930s. There were enablers then. And there are enablers now.

They all thought Hitler was a great guy! As a matter of fact, so did Henry Ford as well as a few others I’m sure you know about.
There is a major flaw in the public’s perception of Muslim danger. The meme seems to be that each and every Muslim must be a Jihadist before we can fight them. It is the disciplined well led minority that is the danger. The majority will simply stand by waiting to see which way to jump. See Lenin who conquered a nation of 100,000,000 with only 250,000 for an example, The French Revolution, the American Revolution all with active well led minorities.
Cousins? Just like FDR and Churchill.

Excellent point. Unfortunately, the leaders in the West (Putin excepted) seem to think that just because the number of radicals is "small", they pose little danger to society as a whole. Your example of Lenin is a good counter to that argument.
Cliff Claven on Jeopardy final question:
“What is they have never been in my kitchen at the same time?”
Maybe. But the "most perfect" man ever -- the murderous, thieving, torturing, slave-holding, pedophilic psychotic rapist Mohammed -- certainly did.
There were good Germans too. But Nazism was evil -- leaving only death and destruction in its wake. The same is true of Mohammed's horrific legacy Islam.
I personally know some very kind Muslims who have been a great help to my aged mother who lives 1500 miles away from me. But they go to a mosque, and I would be very surprised if that mosque is not in some way supporting Islamic terror and barbarism in some way.
They all conspired together to disappear the Lindbergh baby.
Interesting post yours. Hard to argue with someone who was there. And I am not all that surprised by what you observed while living in the ME. Have you formed an opinion on Muslims living in the UK or US?
I begin to suspect our elites are as inbred as the muslims.
Muslim Brotherhood supported the Nazi’s and vice versa.
