Casino is a great movie.
The character played by Dick Smothers was in real life, a younger corrupt Harry Reid circa 1980.

The real person played by Robert DeNiro is Frank Rosenthal.
His website is great and gives a lot of background on the Casino characters, as the movie is based on real people and real events.
Frank died in 2008, but his website is still maintained.
