The Walking Dead has become the most boring show on television
NY Post ^ | December 5, 2015 | Kat George

The zombie apocalypse, it would seem, is an infinite source of story inspiration. What would individuals become? What would humanity devolve to? What would the world turn into? And yet somehow, The Walking Dead has managed to become the most boring show on television. Granted, I do not watch every single show on TV (because even work-from-home writers need to shower sometimes), but I can say with fair certainty I’d rather watch that show about Alaskan prospectors than AMC’s zombie saga. And when I say that I mean an episode where they prospect almost nothing at all. That’s how boring The Walking Dead has become.

(It’s worth mentioning here that I’m about to get into some spoilers, but most of them are a few seasons old by now. With that being said, let’s get on with the show…)

Let me qualify this announcement: TWD wasn’t always boring. It had a strong start, and a gripping first few seasons that might be comparable to Lost, another show which long outstayed its welcome. When viewers first entered the world of TWD, as we did with Lost, we were immediately thrown into the middle of catastrophe. The first episode of TWD taps into a very specific, very universal apocalypse anxiety. Namely, that is that the apocalypse will happen when we’re not looking, and that we’ll walk out into it alone, with no context for what happened, and no information about the state the world is in. And like Lost, there’s the mystery of the CDC, which is very Dharma Initiative-y, and the hermit scientist Jenner is very Desmond inside the hatch-y (although not half as handsome).

Indeed, TWD’s first season is responsible for some of the most iconic imagery in recent television history.

I'm rooting for the dead...I think they should end the series by every single character dying, now that's television risk! :D

I thought it was just me. Seems like I miss half the TWD episodes and it doesn’t make any difference. Maybe the zombies have jumped the shark. They are no where near as compelling as, say, The Affair.

Use the PREVIEW window before posting an article to see how it will look. Then you can go back to EDIT and fix the characters that need fixing. Or you can run what is in your EDIT window through this -— http://dan.hersam.com/tools/smart-quotes.html -— and fix the code. Paste the fixed code back into the EDIT window, check PREVIEW again, and either re-EDIT or POST, as need be.

Dunno about most boring- Fargo with it’s ridiculous over the top violence and non stop over the top anger is a good contender too

I have to tell ya, I’ve fallen 5 episodes behind.

And I feel no overwhelming need to catch up.

Something has happened.

Cant wait for The Squawking Dead. Or the Falking Dead starring Columbo.

Yes you can, you'd get bored in a minute..............LOL!

TWD threads obviously bring out the negativity in you so maybe you should find a puppy thread......LOL!

I like Fargo. Season two is as good as season one, which is a rarity any more.

This is a fantastic website - bookmark it and pass it on.

Thanks. Does it take care of the angled/slanted apostrophe problem too? Another problem is with the single long dash, as opposed to - or --

season one was good just because it was novel, quirky, and over the top crazy- then I got my fill- I just don’t like crazy hyper unrealistic shows like Fargo- Which is why I mainly just watch turner classic movies- more ‘realistic’ scenartios, and not the constant in your face aggression that many actors think is great today-

There were a couple of good episodes this season. But they really need to move this show along.

Hopefully with the introduction of bad-guy Negan, it will.

But, yes, this season opened with sheer awesomeness in the first two episodes, two of the best ever, and then fumbled badly.

Always seemed totally boring to me. Could. Not. Get. Past. 2. Episodes. Tried about 8 times.

Here’s the same paragraph without using the conversion website.

I think the worst thing about this season has been the non-linear storytelling (flashing back and forth makes it more difficult to follow the story). I also think that AMC trolled the fans with the is he/isn’t he with a certain particular character. They also seemed to have intentionally destroyed Morgan’s character just like they destroyed Andrea’s character (in the comics, she learned not to be a libtard).

We thought it died two seasons ago.

Nope, it didn't. In fact, it's still one of the highest, if not THE highest watched cable series on television..........

As for the "WE", are you still carrying that mouse in your pocket?..........
