Drug overdose most likely. Sad.

RIP to a great singer. I’ve read he had a pretty harsh heroin addiction in the past. Hope it wasn’t an overdose, but he was awfully young...

Wow. Pop musician dies. I wonder if there is any sort of precedence for this sort of thing? These guys seem to have a higher mortality than Navy SEALS. Does CDC have a study on this? Their insurance and mod rates must be crazy.

Although the name of the group was very familiar, I had no idea what songs they did, not liking much of anything since the 80s. So I just gave a listen. As expected, I didn’t really care for it. To me, they sounded very similar to Hooty and the Blowfish, who’s music I could also live without. Still, it’s sad to hear he’s died, and so young.

I thought he died in the 90’s. I was teenager during his reign of terror. I remember that “when the dogs can smell her” song playing over and over and over on MTV and the radio.

Not shocked..had heavy drug addiction for years & then supposedly was clean, fell off wagon. Sadly, that’s how these stories usually play out..they think they can still consume same amount of drugs that they used to do & heart can’t take it.
I saw them few times when STP, awesome shows...he was electric on stage.
RIP Weiland

Drug addiction consumes and ultimately destroys everything it touches. No one is immune, no matter how talented. Addicts die beat up, lonely and in a state of mental and spiritual anguish. Heroin had been making a comeback among the young. Hopefully stories like this will make people think twice before taking drugs (or drinking to excess, for that matter).

Too bad he couldn’t overcome it. I was always hoping for an STP comeback an be like the old days again. STP was at the top of the hard rock heap there for a while.

RIP Scott. Very depressing in light of all the recent circumstances especially.
