Yes, the original recipe that I found used bread crumbs, or Panko; but those don’t go with low-carb dieting, so I replaced with the chopped pecans. They get toasty in the oven, and add real interest.

That squash casserole is a real crowd pleaser in her household. I believe she sometimes gives Swiss Chard stems the same treatment... VERY good.
