"Ain't She Sweet?" is played by Harry Bidgood & His Broadcasters on Broadcast 129, recorded on May 11, 1927.
All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy.

“Ain’t she sweet,
See her walkin’ down the street,
Now I ask you very confidentially,
Ain’t she sweet?”
Wow. My dad would sing this song when I was a child. I can’t believe I still remember it. (He wasn’t born ‘til the ‘30’s, though.)
Good song.
It’s a “standard” and has been recorded, by many different people, in just about every decade since it was first written.

I don’t remember if I’ve asked you this before, but are you familiar with the Dutch group called the Beau Hunks who do note for note replays of music from the likes of Leroy Shields, the Hal Roach composer and orchestra leader. I believe they also did the same for Paul Whiteman’s music. Interesting stuff.
I have a CD somewhere. It has Laurel and Hardy and Little Rascal songs. Thought it was on my iTunes, but can’t find it there. Will dig through some CDs later and see if I can find it. Then put it on my iTunes.
Anyway they are worth a listen
I see what you mean.
I think my dad was singing the 1920’s version, though. Same tempo. He was the youngest of 8 siblings, so he probably listened to the music they liked.
I'm a WWII baby and I remember it, mainly because I worked in saloons in my twenties that featured oldies and sing-alongs. There was a parody, though:
Call that sweet? I think she's got athletes feet,
Now I ask you very confidentially, call that sweet?
Ain't she nice, but her hair is full of lice
Now I ask you very confidentially, ain't she nice?
Just cast an eye at her infection,
Oh me oh my, that ain't perfection (she'll never pass inspection)...
My grandmother taught em the song, so I’ve know the original version since I was a little kid. :-)
LOL. I don’t remember hearing that version.
My dad also was a bartender for many years when he was young.
Man, I as so glad the bass/electric bass eventually replaced the tuba. Other than that, this rendition is what I could call the standard version. Nothing unusual about it.
