Peyton has thrown his last pass.

He threw 9 TDs vs. 17 INTs with a strained Plantar. No way in hell he comes back from a TORN Plantar. He's done, forever.

The refs screwing up has become routine. Did you see the 49ers/Cardinals today? “It’s second down. No third down. No second down. No wait...is it first down? “ and they still got it wrong and took a down away from the Cardinals, which was discovered a whole series and five minutes of commercials later. All these years watching football, I have never seen officiating so pathetic as it has been every weekend this year.

Pats are about to face a similar slump like the Packers are.

Disagree completely. Gronk should be back next week. They can EASILY beat the pathetic Eagles with the loser Sanchez. Texans, Titans, Jets and Dolphins after that. Even without Edelman (til the playoffs, likely), the Pats can finish 15-1, at worst 13-3.

The word on the New England sports talk radio stations is that Gronk’s knee injury is not serious.

On TV as it was happening in real time, it looked bad.

More tests are scheduled tomorrow.

Maybe the referees need some concussion protocol?

That being they keep it up, protocol calls for me giving them a concussion.

The NFL and the referees have made Football a QB’s game. That last “holding” call on the Pat’s Chung which gave Denver a first-and-goal, was a perfect example.

If a team has a top QB, then they have a chance. If they don’t have a top QB, there’s is no way a team can make an extended playoff run.

Both of the post game interviews — Osweiller (spl?) and Anderson — struck me as players who understand the source of their success: their teammates and the offensive line. They went out of their way to praise them and give them credit for the win.

You can hear that NFL films music playing....this game was a classic.

I am not much of a sportsfan, but this game was carried by the local AM radio station, and I had listened to most of the game. The line in the article about the theater of the gameplay or whatever... much moreso on the radio... trying to mentally envision each play as it's called... and the snow... and everything. Who needs TV? Heh.

I thought the refs decided who won. Almost every call in the 4th quarter went Denver’s way. I say this as a Bronco fan and a Patriot hater, just so you know this isn’t sour grapes.

This is the sort of treatment the Patriots and Steelers, principally, get all the time - good plays nullified by penalties, phantom flags that show up at a crucial moment. Can’t we just let the players play when it is a close game late?

I love that the Broncos won and I ain’t giving it back. I’d just rather see a close game when great performances, not yellow hankies, decide the outcome.

Oh, and to any Patriot fans reading this:

Ftuck rule. Your chances are fatter than Vince Wilfork convincing anyone you haven’t received special treatment.

All football teams have fans like him.

Refs make more no-calls than they do “iffy” calls. Sometimes the latter are the result of the former.

Deal with it. Refs are part of the game and they’re as human as the players....and the fans.

I never watch football, particularly by myself but, being under the weather, found myself enthralled by one of the most incredible games ever.

Luv’d it.

I have been watching or listening to football for 56 years, and yes the NFL is lost. I still watch, but now I DVR the game my team plays in and skip most of the in between plays, commercials and BS by the announcers. It is not that uncommon now for 4 hour games without overtime. Instant replay, throw that crap away, it slows down the game. In the 60’s games started at 10 am, and were over by 12:45 at the latest. A 2.5 hour game was very common. Pass interference meant you substantially hit a receiver the ball was coming toward, with the ball in the air, and if it was within a catchable radius. There was no such thing as illegal contact. Holding was holding, whether it was an O linemen, or a CB. Late hit, meant you took two steps after the play was over. Receivers were afraid of going “over the middle” because they were thumped hard. The QB could be hit in the exact same manner as a RB, as long as the ball was in his hands, or gone for only those two steps it took you to close on him. The salary cap is communist bs. Why not just allow a team to sign a player to any amount and time they can get him to sign for? When the contract is up, they can go elsewhere, like baseball. The league is making “the game” more about money by trying to control the money a team can spend. When a team builds a powerhouse, why punish them? Stupid stupid NFL, you have ruined a nearly perfect game, by turning it into a perfect product. In case you can’t tell, PRODUCT is an insult.

Leaving only the Panthers as undefeated. Bigger issue for the Pats is they may have lost Gronkowski. Yes other receivers are hurt, but Gronkowski truly is a unique offensive weapon.
