Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?
Crazy is great. Annoying not so much.
Yea they are crazy I love how when they jump at you they fall and kinda slide across the ground before they get up again.
I don’t remember seeing any self-aware ghouls in FO3 or FNV. Definitely haven’t seen any in FO4 yet, loved ghouls in the first two games.
Ah. I played FO3/FNV a lot but I can’t remember any ghouls but the feral ones. I remember in the first two games the ghouls you could take to, can’t remember which game but you could have a Ghoul side kick.
Also don’t know what the MIRV /C-Finder are even though I played FNV. I really loved the hardcore setting on that game. You had to eat and drink regularly or you’d get penalties and eventually die. As far as I know that’s the only Fallout that setting has been in.
Fawkes was the best pack mule I ever had. Especiallty with Broken Steel installed, which made his (and Dogmeat’s) health insanely high due to a typo in the amount of health creatures gain per level.
I might get one of those mods that lets you have a pack brahmin follower which can’t attack, but can carry about 1000 pounds and has huge defenses.
Are you talking about self aware ferals or ghouls generally? Yhere are a ton of ghouls in settlements and towns. The general store chick in Goodneighbor is a ghoul as are some others.
Ah. The MIRV is just a modded fat man? The C-finder I don’t think I ever got, but I remember for sure setting up that solar plant and fixing it up wishing there was a weapon that used it. But I must have done it wrong or something.
FO4 likely has tons of stuff like that. The junk gun is sweet. A reason to pick up stuff you can’t scrap or use for anything else.
I guess you would just call them ghouls then. Ones you can talk to. In FO/FO2 they were always the grossest ugliest looking things, skin melting off their faces. Don’t remember those in FO3/FNV, and haven’t seen em in FO4 yet. Just ferals.
You get two perks: Gift of Gab and Lover's Embrace.
Here's some screens of the chick I convinced to run around in bra and panties forever. All I did was give her the chained dog collar and made her wear it.
The dirty little slut.
She's got a nice little butt, btw.
I did a playthrough with hardcore mode, I remember it more for the fact that you couldn’t spam stimpacks in combat than I do the eating/drinking/sleeping aspect about it. Whenever I play these games I’m always obsessed with conserving my items, so I use the beds to get full health anyways. My son had a mod which let him drink from a canteen with infinite water automatically whenever he got thirsty (the little cheater!).
FO3 had a ghoul follower you could get in the Museum of History (main ghoul city). I actually liked him, he wasn’t whiny and had a nasty shotgun.
Contrast this to some of the New Vegas followers, where Boone always steals my ranged kills and Arcade Gannon is a whiny little wimp (I used him as my test dummy in that game).
That's all from Mr. New Vegas.
However, I did bed Piper and I got the hot Covenant chick to parade around in bra and panties.
In F3 there was the natural history museum that was a refuge for them. They were everywhere. The bartender in megaton was a ghoul. In NV there were Ghoul NCR rangers overlooking Cottonwood Cove. Maybe I’m misunderstanding you/it’s a definition thing, but I can’t imagine how you could have missed them.
"Whoops! Better put on my 'Sardonic Observer of Mankind' Fedora!"
Damn dude. 75 posts in the first 2 hours and this is supposed to be a multi-month thread. LOL
Pent-up demand.
That reminds me...Atop the supermutant radio place in NV (with the whacked out DJ) the mexican mechanic dude was a ghoul you could also have as a follower.
In NV also, the chick in vegas you recruited at the old Mormon Fort as a hooker for the bar was a ghoul also.
Since today.
Since I willed it thus.
Who is General Chat? He must be a very chatty fellow!
Is that a FRAPS screengrab? Fraps is locking F4 for me. I tried upgrading it but it’s the same one it’s been since like 2013.
No chance on Piper. I’ll wait to see if my wife (or I) was a synth and just go that route at the institute when I quit screwing around at lev. 50 in the wasteland and get back to looking for my wayward kid ;)
