Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?
Picard is a wine sippin’ Euroweenie. James Tiberius Kirk, OTOH, would hit it in 4D.
But she isn’t green...
That can be arranged.
Indeed. Just one color tint slider away ;)
I think Jean Luc is more the “alien probe” type....
Well there was the whole Borg thing...
Good point. You can’t get much more “playing for the other team” than that...
LMAO.
Almost totally eliminated the stutter as far as I can tell thus far. Works well enough to not be annoying.
If you limit the framerate to, in my case, 50 fps, it helps considerably. I read that Nvidia cards have a hardware/on chip method for dealing with this (a sync issue between 2 or more cards) and thats why they are less susceptable/easier to deal with, while AMD has yet to go beyond driver fixes. Also learned that newer games (Direct X 11/12 based) are better at dealing with it on their end, thus fewer reported issues). Skyrim is of course, 4-5 years old so game engines have come along a ways as has direct X. F4 is cruzin along so that seems to back it up.
Still got a couple things I can try to totally or 99% eliminate it but as of now I’d call it 95ish% fixed.
I’m playing Fallout 4 with my 9 year old. He is too fraud to play by himself because of the ghouls, so I fight, explore, pick up massive amounts of junk, weapons and meat and let him build up Sanctuary. We work as a team.
Best way to play ;) I played vodeo games with my daughter when she was growing up. When she comes to visit, we still do.
Through the will of Terrible and Mighty Talos, I haZ hit 100%
Went into the editor for Realvision and frame limited it there to 49. Zero stutter, Zero Flicker. Happy has been achieved. Pretty smooth. Not gonna complain.
Like buttah. Game on!
I’ve played less smooth games. 60 FPS would have been damn nice though. Oh well. Fair trade fir the graphic boost. In a couple years, Titans of this gen will be real cheap. Can’t wait to see what Fallout will look like once they get Realvision ported. There are a couple of that type now but they are still early in development. I’ll wait.
Just as a warning:
I snagged that Fallout anthology so I’d have the disks and cut down on the modding/reload times. Fully half of each of the games still have to be downloaded from steam.
Still got a cool mini nuke to keep their near-worthess selves to put on the shelf though.
And the campy Pip Boy bobblehead, too.
You don't want that crap cluttering up your house.
No bobblehead included. Besides, If I sent you the mini nuke case I’d have the FBI on my doorstep in 10 min. and learn the joys of prison sex.
Sadly, I’ll have to sit it on my shelf and have it as a reminder of man’s inhumanity to man or white privilege or how black lives matter or something SJW’ish.
Any suggestions for cooperative play on Xbox one?
