The Official Fallout 4 Thread
11/28./2015 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 11/28/2015 7:53:03 PM PST by Lazamataz

Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.

Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"

Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.

Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.

I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:

Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat

Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.

Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"

Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"

Metallica's "Enter Sandman"

NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

Any other suggestions?

The only games close to FPS I play are the Fallouts. I am totally in the dark on the mechanics. But it makes perfect sense.

The one that drives me barXhit crazy is standing toe to teeth with a mole rat, having the barrel literally in his teeth, pulling the trigger...and missing.

A 50 cal into a poodle sized animal sucking a barrel should result in unidentifiable pink mist.

Oh DUDE!

I am so going to try out this vats thing in the a.m.!

I wondered why the game kept squalling at me whenever I hit the left button! I never figured it out because I didn’t hit it when an enemy was around.

VATS can be a double edged sword. At later levels you become Chris Kyle/terminator. One shot one kill, so it can get boring fast.

On the other hand, it can be a lifesaver. I use it mostly to determine friend from foe. I have blasted too many civilians thinking they were raiders in firefights. Or to find people at night.

I have the targeting/whatever it’s called thing in my X1 armor that bathes everyone in a red glow now so I mostly use it to DO friend from foe.

Actually I owe you a better explanation that my earlier post.

As you know, I am I am a hero of the people (trademark applied for). I have brought light to the darkness. I am an inspiration to others. I rush in where lesser men fear to tread.

You see, I have become a SYMBOL. A shining beacon of justice the poor huddled and downtrodden masses can turn to in their moment of need. And I am there for them. They would not know what to do if not for my actions. They tell me this multiple times a day.

Yet though my deeds are legendary; Though my sword is long, hard, thick and rather dark, I simply cannot be the one thing the filthy and wretched need.

Beauty.

And thats where Lydia comes in. For as you know, Lydia not only bears my burdens, but the burdens of Terrible and Mighty Talos...he who is both man and divine!

We know these burdens as the Holy relics of Talos. And Lydia carries them around proudly. And so people look upon the Holy Relics of Talos and they have that which I cannot provide. Beauty. Things of beauty.

Now imagine for a moment, some pirate or bandit or minion of a dragon priest were to somehow evade my ever-vigilant eye and abscond with the Holy Relics of Talos. I know, it strikes in you a sense of dread. I can relate. So it is incumbent on me to keep an eye on the Holy relics and their bearer at all possible times.

So that all men can know beauty.

So that all men can know contentment and peace in their hearts.

So that all men can be free.

(Drops the mic)

DJ Travis: "We.... uh, not we, SOMEone... some person... saw a person... wait, that's confusing. Travis, get a GRIP! STUPID! STUPID!!!.... A guy named Valentine, saw a vault-dweller leaving vault 111. If Valentine is telling the truth, that would be super cool.....Does Valentine lie? So, I think his name is Stonewall Brigade. Anyways, he's now on the Fallout 4 Ping List, so.... if you see him, tell him Travis welcomes him to the Commonwealth."

If I go into the Giddy Up Buttercup Pony Factory, I sure as hell want to ride the wasteland on a robotic horse.

If that’s not my payoff, forget it.

After the creation kit is released I have no doubt you will be able to get exactly that.

I on the other hand will anxiously await the Assaultron Dominator Ponygirl overhaul.

Which is sorta like Giddyup Buttercup. But with two Katanas and stiletto heels...

BTW, if you are suffering the eternal Fallout problem of Ammo sponging enemies, I found the solution. A capacitor boosted Gauss Rifle. Stupid expensive ammo, but it will solve the bullet sponge problem quickly in a couple shots.

The only solution is the widespread extermination of all those I call ‘enemy’.

Unless you're after a special edition, like Laz mentioned, or score a discounted price (highly unlikely anytime soon), don't bother with a box. When I was reading the various reviews of FO4, before Laz's Official Fallout 4 Thread came into existence, the most common complaint about a box version was, you got a disc and a code. You ran setup from the disc, plugged in your code, and spent the next few hours waiting for the rest of the game to download ... from Steam.

It doesn't take that long now, that was during initial release. Recommend just going with Steam.

Do I have to alert the mods?

That was NOT a Fallout 4 soliloquy!

;)

It will be when the Creation kit/Geck comes out. Because I will be porting my modded version of Lydia in Skyrim to F4 or I will die trying! It is the will of both terrible and mighty Talos and Lord Atom!

Besides, we know from Skyrim lore that before he was Talos, Tiber Septim had many names. Can you PROVE that Atom was not one of them? Can you? I THINK NOT! AH! HAHAHAAH!!!!!

TeH Madness....TeH Madmess....it is upon me! ;)

The guy that does these “MXR” vids is THE dude for Skyrim mod vids. His schtick/sense of humor grows on you, believe it or not. Kinda like a fungus. But he’s the go to guy for the good mods. Covers them all and well.

I’m looking for full frontal nudity.

I won’t be happy without full frontal nudity.

So.

How about it, Cat?

Used, abused, and cast to the side. My heart belongs to Catherine.

Literally. She bought it on the Russian human-organ black market.

DJ Travis: "Well now THIS is something. I just got a note. It said there's a NEW vault dweller in the Commonwealth. Wait, hold on... uh, if he's in the Commonwealth now, he's not a vault dweller any more.... um, right? ....Unless he sleeps there and comes out every day? .... Iiiiiiii don't know. Why doesn't anyone tell me things....? Anyways, his name is papertyger. Paper TIGER. Get it....? It's like a pun. I think. No, wait, that's not a pun. GAH! I am such an IDIOT!"

Useless organ anyway really. Always bleeding. Last guy I saw with one kept it 100 feet underground and paid me to blast it. But he was a tree so what did he know anyway.
