The Official Fallout 4 Thread
11/28./2015 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 11/28/2015 7:53:03 PM PST by Lazamataz

Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.

Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"

Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.

Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.

I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:

Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat

Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.

Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"

Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"

Metallica's "Enter Sandman"

NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

Any other suggestions?

At this point, escapism is mandatory. All kidding aside, this place is too far gone to ever return to normal without a literal civil war/revolution...at which point we are playing fallout for real anyway.

A stupid number of people on the supposed right are every bit the whack jobs living in a political fantasy land. They want what the left wants and vote for those that give them leftism every 2 years while beating their chests about their conservatism. They just won’t speak the words “I’m a liberal” openly because they are too immersed in their own fantasy world to admit what they have become.

So is having a 70 inch screen with a 6 foot in stripper bootsdisplayed as wall art REALLY so crazy to ponder in such an environment? At least ‘my’ fantasy world is enjoyable.

;)

Yup, you’re right. Colleen Delany does the voice for KEL-O and P.A.M., the Assaultrons.

Unfortunately it only lasts as long as you have the electricity necessary.

Instead of leftists, should start calling them anti-liberty, or anti-freedom, or something that is easy, rhythmic, and catchy.

Either way, those that choose to LEAVE US ALONE ought to be imprisoned or even killed. Yes, I said it.

Yes, Leave us the "F" alone. Why must you control us?

Well if it only SEEMS kinky to have sex with decomposing radiation zombies, that proves it. You ARE a redhead ;)

Because it’s what leftists do. It’s their entertainment. It’s their religion. It’s their job. It’s the blood in their veins.

Can you tell me how to figure out how many rads I’ve taken?

That little red bar graph is about useless.

BTW, being such a poor shot with that bolt action pipe sniper rifle REALLY pisses me off!

I hope there’s more useful optics for recon and higher quality sniper rifles somewhere in this game. ;)

I’m in power armor 99.9% of the time so I go by the red graph on the left side hit point dial. I think you can go to the stats menu for the exact number but I’m not totally sure on that. The pip boy dude’s expression will also tell you if you have a danger level health issue/rads/addiction.

Are you holding your breath (ALT key) for the shots?

There are a couple steady aim perks also but you need your strength to be a certain level to even get access to them.

The Recon scopes help a lot as well. Larger field of view.

"Is somebody going to talk him down?"

From what?

I have three.

Yeah, I got that.

They’ve obviously tied hit probability to some other factors. When I miss a clean shot at a mongrel dog, but I’m close enough for it to figure out where I’m shooting from...it ain’t my marksmanship ;)

I’ve noticed with lazer rifle scope/VATS shots, where you can see the ‘flight path’, you can get some wild misses at close range when you KNOW you had a solid crosshair lock. Like you fired intentionally over the target’s head.

Oh the ammo I have wasted...

What is this “Recon scope” you speak of sahib?

You are to be telling me, yes no?

BTW... What exactly is VATS, anyway?

I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you ;)

It’s one of the gun mods. Best of the sights/scopes. You need IIRC the science skill perks. Wider FOV, rectangular voew screen and better night vision.

The downside to it is that it takes up a chunk of your screen when running with the gun drawn which annoys me.

you can get some wild misses at close range when you KNOW you had a solid crosshair lock.

I suspect that's the game's un-acknowledged version of the "contracting reticle" on other shooter games. You know the kind where your shot will fall somewhere in the aiming circle, which contracts in size as you hold it steady on one point.

It's a fair way to simulate realism...unless you already happen to know what you're doing. (Gritted Teeth!)
