Award-winning author Joyce Carol Oates came under intense fire from social media users on Sunday after tweeting that she has only heard “puritanical & punitive†things about the Islamic State and wonders whether there is anything “celebratory & joyous†about the terrorist group.
"All we hear of ISIS is puritanical & punitive; is there nothing celebratory & joyous? Or is query naive?"

ISIS will be celebratory when Joyce Carol Oates brings them ice water in Hell. That may never happen.

ISIS joyously celebrates every evil act that they commit. Is she not watching what they do and say? Or does Ms Oates think that the beheadings and hostage-taking and bombings etc are just their nine-to-five gig, and they come home tired from a day’s “work” and complain to the wife about the tough day that they had and how they don’t love their job so much?
The only celebratory aspect of ISIS is the thrill they get from murdering Christian children.
Sheltered liberals like her should make a trip to Raqqa and view all that joy and celebration herself.

Maybe she should be asking why the artworks of the Nazi regime are not exhibited for their craftsmanship in art museums these days.

She was one of the enforced authors through my high school and college. Joyce Carol Oates and Maya Angelou were about the best way to convince young people not to read, maybe second to actual physical torture.
I’d be happy to help finance her one-way flight to the Mid East so she can research it.
She was also an apologist for Islam during the fragmenting wars in Yugoslavia.
She’s looking for ‘good country people’... maybe she fly over there, bask in the great understanding of these people and come back and mock the rest of us...
