My message to indigenous tribesmen of the Americas who were living in the Stone Age just 200 years ago: You’re Welcome!

One of my great-grandmothers was one of you and I’m grateful for European civilization.

Makes no sense with respect to Thanksgiving.

And while many of the men and women agree that the 'redskins' is an 'offensive' and 'racist' term,..."

And many agree that it is NOT an 'offensive' and 'racist' term.

I’m sure the native Americans vast amount of written history and their newspaper accounts from the period verifies this whiners version of what was happening during that time.

Whereas the spoken word handed down, and embellished through the ages holds such credence, the hearsay should be allowed in courts.

We don’t celebrate thanksgiving on behalf of the Indians.

Anyone alive today who feels upset about anything in the 1600s is an A-hole. That includes papists, protestants, polocks, bosniacs, sailors, nice people, bad guys, brits, and yes wild Indians. That’s a blanket statement.

And the funny thing is, in the thousands of years before the Europeans came, Native American tribes never fought each other over land.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

In 1654 the Indians on Manhattan Island massacred my ancestor and his son...

In Feb 1690 5 brothers of another ancestor were kidnapped by the Indians from Schenectady and taken to Canada while the parents and younger children were away in Albany..Many of the villagers were massacred that night and most of the village was burnt down ...

8 Sept 1755 my 6th great grandfather was killed at the Battle of Bloody Pond, Lake George, NY ...another massacre by Indians (helped by the French)

They can all piss off. They massacred each other over territory or for power and they were finally faced with a bigger, stronger tribe. Karma sucks. Get over it nitwits.

Foolishness. As a matter of fact, the Pilgrims landed first on Cape Cod and the Indians there was definitely unfriendly. They then found a deserted Indian camp across the bay and moved. There never was more than a guarded relationship between the Indians and the local indians, who themselves were often at odds. What happened was that the Pilgrims were just a new tribe joining in the mix of other tribe sin the area and they proved to be the strongest.

They should count their blessings that the Aztecs never expanded north, make them all slaves, and their ripped out hearts into fashion accessories.

When Columbus discovered America there were over 600 different Indian tribes on the continent who were in almost constant war with one another and it was often very brutal and vicious . Some tribes were almost totally annihilated by their fighting . One might even refer to it as a massacre . When will they pay up ???

When the first Europeans landed on the area north of the Rio Grande and started settling, they found a mostly empty, huge land mass. Contrary to "accounts" from leftist historians, there were no huge populated cities like in Mexico where the Aztecs had subjugated and slaughtered many of their Indian neighbors. There could not have been 15-20 millions people like the leftist historians claim. The population north of the Rio Grande numbered probably not more than one or two million....if that.

Without large settlements it's almost impossible to establish large populations. The hunter-gatherer, nomadic lifestyle of many of the north of Mexico Indian tribes could not have built large populations.

So the original European settlers found mostly a huge wilderness, sparsely populated, with some friendly Indians and some not-so-friendly Indians. Many Indian tribes were quite warlike and didn't shrink from invading enemy Indian territory, taking their lands, and killing of lot of their people. In short, they acted like people from other parts of the world acted.

Whatever the faults (and they had some serious faults) of the European settlers, they established a culture of law and civilization that eventually led to the United States.

Now the question I want to ask today's Indians: would they still rather be living the nomadic, h-g lifestyle, dwelling in tepees, and being at constant war with other Indian tribes?
