Very fortunate that he got the week off from work to camp out there, and was so disciplined to save not only the money for his purchases but to endure the loss of earnings (unless it was vacation time).

I think people who spend a week standing in line to be the first in the door of a store on Black Friday are incredibly stupid and shallow!
They did a local news piece about a couple of women who were in line at Best Buy. They'd been there two days. The reporter asked what their family was doing for Thanksgiving Dinner, they said they didn't care they were here for the big screens! They weren't even Christmas gifts...just more 'me' junk for themselves.
Pathetic.
