Appearing in a new BBC Three documentary, Young, Trans and Looking for Love, they let viewers see a glimpse of their lives as they struggle to find love.
The doc shows the moment Claire, from Virginia, meets a guy that she likes, only to be rejected by him as soon as he finds out she was born a boy.
She says: "In a lot of ways, I don't like telling a guy. Once I tell him all respect goes out of the window.
"Straight guys just can't get over you having the male parts.

The Supreme court just announced today that a new law has been issued which explicitly forbids straight men from refusing to have relations with tranny men. All those refusing to comply will be guillotined at the foot of the statue of the god Molech which now resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. All citizens will gather either in front of Molech at noon of every sunday, or in front of their televisions which will show the god Molech. I’ve already seen chatter about how lesbians are bigoted for not wanting to have relations with transgendered women, AKA, men who think they are women. Even Chaz Bono has complained of that.
