I may have to get Amazon Prime just to watch this. Wolverines!
I watched the first episode months ago (they were offering one episode free.) I didn’t want to pay for the rest, but now that it’s on Amazon Prime, I might give it a go.
The plot was interesting: we lost WWII. Japan gets the Western states...Nazis get the eastern states.
Can’t remember much more than that.
Bkmrk.
Saw episode 1 yesterday.
Really well done. Major plot twists in the first episode that really shakes up what you would predict would happen. Admittedly my stomach sinks about the world that these people live in, and seeing the opening theme song was pretty tough to see as an American.
Also great special effects for an Amazon show. They really got the look down to the point where it was very believable. Maybe more on the “Japanese” side because it contrast so heavily from the Nazis. Basically you have to consider the people on the west coast to be the lucky ones. Well that is unless what they say might happen on the German sides comes to pass.
Overall I’m excited to see how it plays out!
Is it on Netflix?
Could have been worse if either the Russians under Stalin or the Chinese under Mao had replaced both the Japs and the Nazis in the series.
Yes, I’m up to episode 4 now - pretty good so far. Never thought the song “Edelweiss” would make, the hair on the back of my neck stand up, but the intro credits are seriously creepy.
I’ve seen the first two episodes, not the new one that came out 11/20.
They are very good at carrying forward the plot and subtly revealing the horrors of that world within the budget.
I remember seeing a promo for this, looked very interesting (but perhaps depressing given the way the country is going lately).
Almost too many decent shows on for me to keep up right now I’m watching marvel agents of Shield, Grimm, Jessica Jones, Gotham....
Australian film like Red Dawn.
It’s quite good. I recommend it.
I’ve seen the first two episodes and they were excellent. Hoping that the rest is just as good.
The series is well done, good production values and maybe even slightly better than the book but not anything that had me doing a Tom Cruise (jumping on the couch ya know).
Although some story elements are left out or truncated in the Amazon film, these are understandable edits. I have not watched the entire series, but what I've seen is very good.
I watched the first (only one available at the time) episode.
It was interesting. I like to binge-watch, so am waiting for all the episodes to go up on Amazon Prime.
Anyone else think the novel isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Especially compared to his best novels.
I saw the first episode last year when it first came out but I haven’t started watching again since the new episodes were just now posted.
Why is Hollywierd doing a fantasy about America in need of rescue from the Nazis — when we are genuinely in need of rescue from the Communists?
