A transgender man who had been taking testosterone jabs for years thought he was out of shape and needed to work out more, but it turned out he was pregnant.
Kayden Coleman, now 29, was stunned with a bloated stomach and back pain in 2013.
At first, he even joked he should get a pregnancy test when he was hit with the pain.
"I never thought about getting pregnant. Because of the male hormones, I didn't think it was a possibility. It was definitely a surprise," he told the Mirror Online.
A trip to the doctors confirmed Mr Coleman was 21 weeks pregnant, and the couple began to prepare for the surprise new addition.
"It felt like there was a pillow under my stomach but there was no pillow," he added.
He gave birth to baby daughter Azaelia, now 22 months old.
Mr Coleman's pregnancy appears to have gone largely unnoticed outside their family.
"This woman in a shop said to me, 'Honey, you look like you're pregnant'. I just laughed and said, 'I am pregnant!' She didn't believe me," he told the Mirror Online.
The couple, who live in Philadelphia, started dating in 2012 and a year later were tying the knot and scrambling to prepare for the arrival of their baby.
The unexpected news was made possible as Mr Coleman had to take a six-week break from using hormones, in preparation for a double mastectomy.
"I was shocked. It took a while to process it. But I was also busy figuring out how we could make things work in such a short space of time," he said.

A woman who “identifies” as a man, dresses as such and undergoes “therapy” to appear more male, engages in sex with a another man (penis attached) in ^her^ vaginal area -which s/he has apparently rejected as legitimate(?).
Why didn’t the he/she take it anally like the LGBT culture would expect?
She/he is OBVIOUSLY not transitioning to male if a penis is still being accepted vaginally.

“He” must’a thought “he” is a male homosexual. A lot of horny drunk guys would let that fantasy play out once they inspected the equipment and found it to be female.
I was able to nail a liberal friend who opined “If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament”. I chastised her for being offensive to transgenders who are “men” who can get pregnant.
She didn’t know whether to skip or go blind.
Someone who retains the physical anatomy to get pregnant is a woman.
It is far worse that it is a little girl exposed to those hormones than a boy.
Poor kid.
A woman had sex with a man and got pregnant? Stop the presses! Referring to her as a him is incredibly stupid.
Even if you’re a man, if someone sticks his penis in your ladyparts, you may become pregnant.
