WASHINGTON – Defense Secretary Ash Carter suddenly fired his top military aide Thursday citing allegations of misconduct, and referred the matter to the department's inspector general.
Defense officials would not provide any details about why Army Lt. Gen. Ron Lewis was removed from his job. A senior defense official said Carter learned of the allegations Tuesday night and later informed the inspector general. Carter was surprised by the allegations and met with Lewis Thursday morning, said the official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly so spoke on condition of anonymity.
"''I expect the highest possible standards of conduct from the men and women in this department particularly from those serving in the most senior positions," said Carter in a statement released Thursday. "There is no exception."
The firing severs a long, close professional relationship between Lewis and Carter, and sent shock waves across the Pentagon. Lewis served as Carter's military aide earlier in his career, including when Carter was the deputy secretary of defense. And when Carter was tapped to become defense secretary earlier this year, he chose Lewis, then an Army one-star brigadier general, to move into the three-star aide job.

My guess (and hope) is that it had something to do with sex since the article said something about “expecting high standards of conduct”. This would point out, yet again, the gross hypocrisy of the left to fire this guy when they wouldn’t do anything about Bill Clinton’s sex in the Oval Office, not to mention perjury, subornation of perjury, obstruction of justice...
Maybe he used one of those forbidden alphabet words that cause many to reach for Valium.
So no, he's not standing up to Obama or saying nasty things about Muslims. He's been dipping his wick where it doesn't belong and it's cost him.
I believe his statement was: "Let's wipe out the ISIS Terrorists before Christmas."

According to those in the know, he was caught checking the oil level on his driver, a female. If you have no choice and have to have a female driver or aide, make sure that they are 2 bag ugly.

I’m glad he’s gone. This kind of thing should never be acceptable in the military no matter what rank someone is.
This sort of thing should never be acceptable in any professional environment, I have just observed too many senior officers get a back case of stupidity when their ego gets out of hand.
His fault, even if the driver threw herself at him and I haven’t heard any such suggestion.
Oh I see. It kind of appeared that you were suggesting the driver was somehow at fault for an adult man’s personal behavior sue to not being an ugly woman.

Ass Carter probably discovered this wasn’t a political general and decided to sideline him.
