Lots of people who have never had diabetes would have to deal with it were they to not maintain their weight and a healthy diet.

Perhaps. But there are some who do all the right things and still develop diabetes. And then there are people who have poor diets who don't develop diabetes.

I admit I brought my diabetes on myself by lousy eating habits, being obese and not exercising. Today these faults have been mostly corrected and my diabetes has improved considerably, but I am by no means cured.

Additionally, as I get older, my diabetes is getting harder to control. This is because the pancreas, which produces the necessary insulin, is wearing out. It's now necessary for me to drop my carbs even further and keep my weight under control, or I will need insulin.

This true. You can also get rid of Type II by drinking Canary Seed Milk twice a day. It significantly lowers blood sugar and flushes fat out of your system. It is widely used in South America. Mr. GG2 and I use it. You will lose weight and lower your blood sugar if you do nothing else except drink the Canary seed milk.
