Apple’s giant new campus looks like a spaceship (with latest Drone Video of construction site)

Companies have recently been putting more effort into the workplace environment, striving to cultivate a habitat that is conducive to productivity and community. Startup companies are attempting to develop settings that are fun and social to attract young bright minds, while distinguished agencies push towards modern approaches of walls with contemporary art and glass partitions. One thing is becoming more apparent as people align their jobs with their own identity, is that you are where you work. Apple proves to be no exception to this.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s head marketing chief recently stated,

“Across the board, our goal is to make the best in the categories we choose to compete in.”

I don’t think anyone can argue with this statement, especially considering their astronomical numbers for 2015. With its last quarterly revenue of 51.5 billion, it’s not surprise that they would be making room for some expansion in their office quarters as well.

Already being referred to as “The Spaceship” the new campus currently being build is only a mile away from its current headquarters in Cupertino, CA. The circular building spans over 2.8-million-square-feet and features an open middle section for greenery. Schiller also goes on record with Mashable to say, “[T]his is going to be the most incredible collaborative space that’s been created.”

Lucky for us, Youtuber and avid droner, Duncan Sinfield caught some footage of the Spaceship in its current production state. Using his camera attached to a pretty sophisticated drone, Sinfield’s footage gives you glimpse into how huge this “collaborative” space really is.

Any word on what will be placed at the center?

The center will be returned to natural native plants with walkways and bicycle paths. . . No gardening should be required.

You are right that Apple outsources most manufacturing (though they do own and operate a factory in Ireland the produces iMacs).

Apple also builds iMacs a lot closer than that, in Elk Grove, California, and all Mac Pros are manufactured in Austin, Texas. And DennisW is lying again about Apple's R&D and engineering, which he claims is done in Asia. No, it's not. It's done in California.

Liberals love diversity. Especially when it is in somebody else’s neighborhood.
