My prayers go out.

How far is he? What city?

I know venturing to NYC, where I live can be a struggle but is definitely a learning experience.

As long as he answers the cell when you call, you can have some kind of peace.

It will work out. I made my mother gray by 50 and I and she are still kicking.

I will pray for strength, wisdom and discernment for both of you. A big part of me is really glad to hear about a 19 yr old leaving home on their own :| Most either stay or get thrown out!

Have faith. God reminds us that if you see what you want, then who needs faith? Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

I have offered prayers. While my own children are not old enough to try something like this, a number of my peers have. Mixed results. Some really take to it. Others have struggles.

Prayers up, right now - but something tells me this is going to end up just fine. My son is 19, and he’s in Kilamanjaro Tanzania doing the Lord’s work and speaking Swahili like he was raised with it. I bet your son surprises you. I hope this encourages you.

Prayers for him.

When they are of this mindset you have to step back and let them make their own mistakes. But as much as you are able to covertly watch him, do so. Seriously. Just don’t get caught.

Is he close by? Is there someone from the past he is close to?

Does he know you use this forum so that he could read the comments?

Could he have met someone online?

Almighty Father, we commend this young man into your hands. He has the courage to strike out and find his place in the world, I ask that You guide him, protect him from the unscrupulous, have Your Angels guard him and keep him from harm, and grant him the means to succeed without compromising his morals. Grant, as well, Oh Lord, faith and Your Peace to this young man’s family that You will watch over him. I ask this in the Holy Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

He’ll sink or swim.

There is no other way. Just saying.

Just be there for him when he needs it. Hopefully he’s prepared.

Just be there. Always.

May God bless your son with growing wisdom, strength from his new independence and protection while he grows. May your mother’s heart be calmed with God’s peace.

Your prayers and those of us praying for your son and you ....do not go out void.
They go to our Heavenly Father....and Jesus is our intercessor.

Many prayers and years I have prayed for my son.....
Like yours, he had to make his own journey.......to become a man.

God heard those prayers.....he is happily married and strong in the Lord.

Even Billy Graham’s son, Franklin, departed from the fold, but God brought him back, strong in Him.
God hears the broken in spirit......
He hears your humble prayers...

Our son was 19 when he left home and we felt exactly as you do. Though he did struggle for awhile . . and though we did help him quietly from the sidelines once or twice . . he is now 30 years old and is happily married and has a great job history for the last 7 years. Many times I would sneak into his apartment while he was at work under the pretense of gratuitously cleaning . . washing filthy sheets . . getting his laundry caught up . . and quietly and without fanfare, carting liquor bottles and beer cans to the trash can. I never openly confronted him about his sloppy lifestyle, mostly because I didn’t feel compelled to do more than PRAY PRAY PRAY. During those hours alone in his apartment, I would heartbrokenly appeal to God for my son. I felt defeated every time I opened the door to that little apartment and saw the total disarray of a life that I felt was in danger. And every single time I closed the door behind a sparkling clean environment for ‘my boy’ . . I had the inherent and heartfelt assurance that my son was also ‘God’s boy’. Each and every time, God gave this hurting Mother a determination to not give up . . to not preach to him or confront him . . but to pray quietly, continue to love him unconditionally, to always believe that ‘our boy’ would not be defeated by Satan’s power. I always left feeling God’s Presence had somehow been restored to that little apartment that Satan had claimed as his own. I wish I could tell you that it didn’t take long . . but it did take years before our son finally matured enough . . found the right girl . . and most important of all . . he found his way back to God. Of course, that wasn’t hard for him, because a Mother’s prayers had helped to keep God’s Presence in our son’s environment. I am empathetic with your heartbreak . . but there is hope on the horizon because God is more transforming than is Satan. The Bible is so true when we parents have the reassurance that if we raise our kids in the right way . . when they are old they will not depart from it. I will pray for you and your son. Please keep us aware of his progress and please feel free to private message me if you feel the need to ‘talk’ at any time.

Prayers for both you and your son.

Keep your arms open and make it easy for him come back home when he's ready.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Psalm 91:1-3,

"And I give them eternal life; they will never come to destruction, and no one will ever take them out of my hand."
John 10:27-28

"But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one."
2 Thess 3:3

"And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen."
2 Timothy 4:18

Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower"
Psalm 18:2

We beseech You O Lord,
We come boldly asking for Your divine safety and protection over this young man. You instructed us to always pray, for You are able to keep, take care of, and bring to pass the things that we commit unto You in prayer. Lord, we commit all things into Your hands. We pray that You would assign strong and mighty angels to watch over this young man in all his endeavors. May You encamp him in a hedge of protection to keep safe in all his ways.

Father, thank You for the power and authority that You have given us over the devil and over every evil and demonic spirit; and with that authority, We do bind Satan, every principality, and every spirit of weakness from hurting or harming those who belong to You, in any way, by the authority of the name of Jesus Christ.

No weapon formed against those who belong to You shall prosper. You instructed us to cast our cares and our worries upon You, and You would sustain us. Therefore as praying intercessors, we cast this young man's cares and worries upon You. Prayers extended for his family that they may receive your grace in the form of comfort, peace and knowledge that you are God of all. We are confident, that according to Your word, You shall sustain and keep all safe. Your word says You are faithful to keep us from all evil.

Because we trust in You to watch over this young man his friends and all loved ones. We thank You for allowing Your peace to rest upon us and their every concern. Thank You and praise You for victory in Christ Jesus .
Let it be done in Your glory, Lord.
We praise and glorify Your name,
Amen
