Greenies have driven the price of R-22 and Freon-12 to hundreds of dollars, and asthma inhalers (or, as Obama calls them, breathalyzers) no longer work properly. The supposed culprit, CFC, has been driven away. Yet, the ozone hole is still with us. Another FAIL for big government.

God knows what he is doing. We don’t. We’re just plain vain.
To: norwaypinesavage
Yet will you ever hear any green weenie admit that the whole CFC boogeyman was just overheated guesswork that cost millions of dollars and accomplished exactly bupkus?

No, but we made whoever developed that next generation refrigerant pretty damn rich....I think it was 3M or some biggie like that.

The solution to ozone depletion is to run a lot of electric motors with brushes.....

A big failure of backbone on Ronald Reagan’s part for signing the Montreal treaty. This campaign was so successful for the liberals in creating a world problem solvable by extra taxes it provided the frame work to establish the global warming scam.

Why are we not dead yet? The alarmists told us we’d all get cancer.

The ozone ‘hole’ is just a thinning of the ozone layer.
It never was a hole.
Sometimes the thinning got to be just over 10%!
Shocking what colorized renditions of thinning can look like to naive fools...

Yup. I spent many years in the automotive repair industry about the time of the transition away from Freon to R-134A.
Immediately we began to get complaints from customers of a "musty" smell when drivers would turn on their A/C. It seems that the old refrigerants had disinfectant qualities that the new coolant simply didn't possess. All types of bacteria would find your car's ventilation system to be hospitable for rapid growth.
The fix? Well, disinfectant sprays into the vents was a partial cure, and we began to suggest simply that the fresh air mode on the A/C unit be utilized full-time.
No telling how many medical conditions were fostered and exacerbated by injecting your car with dangerous microbe critters every time you ran your A/C.

I remember when the ozone hole was the biggest scare, mentioned as the not-to-be-questioned cause of every ill in nature, much as climate change is now.
Libs are good at fixing problems that don't exist, with money we don't have.
Wonder what the next scare in the pipeline will be.
They need something to keep this scam going.

There is no invented problem that cannot be fixed by the government fouling up everything. Then more problems need to be solved by the government that caused them and the solutions keep coming as we lose all liberty.
Government grows like the cancer it is.

Just wait until you see energy prices in a few years after we agree to the Paris global warming scam agreement in a few weeks.

The "Ozone Hole" is just another eco-fraud, like the coming ice age, acid rain and global warming. They are all just artifical crises that can be blamed on evil greedy capitalists and can be used to get otherwise rational people to act against their own best interest.
(See Dr. Thomas Sowell's "The Vision of the Anointed".)

Maybe the ozone hole is nature’s blowhole to allow certain gases to escape?ð

Just another scam perpetrated on the sheep. Some corp paid off a politician to get the product banned so he could sell his other product for 10 times as much. F’n corrupt US politicians.

Yep....you’re right...that caused a widespread retooling and remanufacturing effort throughout the industry for bigger exchangers to account for less efficiency. Dow, IIRC, was also heavily involved in the implementing legislation via lobbying.

It was not just a scare, it was a crisis of huge proportion and something had to be done immediately and it was.
