Cutter lawn spray is the way to go. Keep the grass short as well.

Original yellow Listerine works pretty well and also dryer softener sheets.

The products were tested against two mosquito species, the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) and the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus), both known vectors of dengue fever, chikungunya, yellow fever, and other diseases.

I will never understand why biting bugs like skeeters and smaller ankle biters prefer me to the wife, but it has been true for decades.

I laugh when she finally gets nailed to share the misery.

Sure seems like something could be ingested to make you less palatable to the damn things.

I wonder how many poor countries with malaria problems have banned DEET and it has cost them in lives.

I have had good results with the herb tansy when I used it to repel mosquitos during camping trips in Southern New Jersey. It has similar scent to Avon Skin so soft. Apply by rubbing the leaves to your skin. It is very easy to grow, since it is a perennial.

Had a guy in Viet Nam that said “I don't know what this stuff has in but it sure works good”! Another guy looked at the container and said “Possum, that is DDT” to which Possum replied yep, sure works good.

I make my own mosquito spray with Essential Oils, grapeseed oil and vodka.

Works like a charm, here in the sauna swamps of SE TX.

I found that after 3-4 days in the jungle w/o a bath kept the little biters away, in fact, it kept most things away.

Skin-so-soft does work great. I’ve used it for years on myself and my horses with great results.

I am very allergic to DEET and also to cedar. I got a mosquito shirt from Bug Out.com.. It works great, light mesh shirt with a hood that actually can go over your head and face. sleeves are long enough to protect your hands too.

Permethrin. Take a 32 gallon trash can, fill 2/3 with warm water, add 1 cap full of Permethrin, soak cloths then let dry. Bugs die when they touch the stuff, but no harm to humans. In fact, the military has BDUs impregnated with Permethrin.

Permethrin on clothes and gear along with DEET on skin and bugs are no problemo.

I use Vick’s Vapor Rub. I rub it on my neck and other exposed areas. It always seems to work for me and the jar is small.

I have a great one if anyone wants: lemon balm essential oil. My little girl is allergic to mosquito bites, they get huge like chicken pox. I don’t want to put any neurotoxins into her bloodstream (anything you put on your skin goes right in).

I mix it two ways. With water in a little plastic spray bottle, enough drops in about a cup or so of water so that when you spray it on your arm the scent remains nicely. This can be sprayed on in seconds as someone races out the door. Mosquitos do not like it. The water version only lasts less than an hour.

For a longer time exposed to mosquitoes, get a little metal or ceramic cosmetic tin, or even an empty cosmetic tin from old cosmetics, mix up some natural Shea butter and coconut oil, about 3:1 in a little bowl, put in 30-40 drops of lemon balm (can add some drops of eucalyptus oil as well), and when smooth spread into the tin. Depending on your home’s temp, it may need to be kept in the fridge for consistency, or taken out with enough time to get it spreadable. Spread it over all exposed areas, not super close to eyes, and it lasts a few hours.

Totally natural but she doesn’t get bitten - mosquitos just don’t like that scent. It smells great to us.

Don’t feel forced to put neurotoxins on your skin. Gd always has a better way.
