South China Sea dustup illustrates murky status of waterway (will Ozero start WWIII?)

The South China Sea has been a source of friction for decades with China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei and Vietnam all asserting claims over various sections.

The United States and its regional allies fear that China is now trying to establish effective control over parts of the strategic waterway through landfill and construction projects in the Spratly Islands, a group of contested reefs, islets and atolls.

On Tuesday, the U.S. sent a Navy warship into the 12-mile territorial zone claimed by China for artificial islands it is building to assert Washington's position that the archipelago lies within international waters where ships from all nations are free to navigate.

The maneuver drew a sharp rebuke from Beijing, which warned Washington not to "cause trouble" in the South China Sea.

President Ovomit sent the warship into that area to PRETEND that he is flexing US muscle.

The Chinese know this and so do the Russians. They are PRETENDING to be offended and all that just to make it look like Ovomit is a world leader of a once great country but under His regime, it's a laughing stock...

WW III won’t start over this. China still does not have a sufficiently large blue-water navy.

Money is on getting a sufficiently large presence of the Chinese in the Persian Gulf region, to swoop in and “pacify” the smoldering conflict which promises to get very hot very quickly.

Why the Middle East? The access to relatively cheap oil, especially after the countries involved are invaded and colonized.

And China is looking for colonies.

Genghis Khan did it all back in the 13th Century, but he wasn’t after oil, just gold. The Muslims suffered greatly for their resistance then. Islam was nearly crushed altogether.

Nearly crushed, but not obliterated totally.

Don’t expect the Chinese to make the same mistake Genghis Khan did.

He like the leaders of Europe and Britain started WW2 years before it started.

It has already started

Crimea, Ukraine, Syria, Chinese islands where half of the shipping of the world goes through to the east.

Yup. He’s at that political stage where he needs a war but can’t write start one outright (has to provoke one).

China’s Navy will be larger than our own Navy by 2020.
