Employees in District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Office of Community Affairs are apparently required to stand every time the mayor enters the room.
Staff members in the office were ordered to stand up and greet Bowser when she entered the room for a meeting, according to an email obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation via the D.C. government’s Freedom of Information Act online reading room.
In the email dated Feb. 5, Bowser’s director of community affairs, Charon P.W. Hines directs Bernedia Long, an employee of the agency, to make sure all staff members stood up when they saw Bowser.

The title says “Forced”. The first sentence says “required”. The second sentence says “ordered”. The email dated Feb. 5 says “make sure” and uses words like “must”. Nowhere does it indicated what would happen if anyone didn’t stand. (A trip to the woodshed, I suppose!!)
Didn’t ANYONE tell her “Excuse me, but that makes you look like a royal asshole”?
Didn’t bowser used to be a popular name for a dog? I knew DC was screwed when they were thinking about abandoning a street car line along H Street because residents had some bump ups with the street cars. They had to hire a consultant instead of using city tow trucks to move said cars.
I could have solved the problem with painted lines on the street and the tow trucks.
That told me all I needed to know about mayor Bowser. She’s barking nuts. I attended her inauguration ball which was a mega tribute that said a lot about her.
More times than not when I hold a door for or give a seat to a female they act quite surprised. Lost count of how many times I’ve seen men going into stores, restaurants etc. with a woman and just walking in front with complete disregard. Kind of a sad commentary on the general manners of men nowadays......... just my old fashioned 2 cent.
