If a lady comes on the platform at our church ... the pastor and any other man there stand out of courtesy

I was taught to give my seat to a lady on a trolley or a bus

I was taught to open a door, pull out the seat and stand for a lady

No 'lady' has to demand a thing .... we American men hold ladies in high honor
