If they closed NC beaches due to sighting a hammerhead off the end of a fishing pier, they’d never open.
One lesson to derive, though, is to do your ocean swimming well away from fishing piers. The water is full of bait, that draws bait fish, that draw sharks.
Weak. I’m not one of those tough guy know it alls but never had an issue with a Hammerhead. I’ve seen them swimming, diving, and a few times while capsized sailing.
