Cockpit crew questioned legality of bombing hospital.

What’s your point?
What do you tacitly acknowledge when you question an order?
That you know the target is a hospital?
Sorry sir...I don't want to bomb that....
Try that in the service.
You mean they KNEW IT WAS A HOSPITAL? This is beyond comprehension.
I think that we will find that MSF failed to kick back money to the Clinton Global Initiative.
It is possible Obama is ordering misconduct in order to discredit the military before he leaves.
The cockpit crew could have made the decision to refuse to follow the order.
They didn’t.
“Cockpit crew questioned legality of bombing hospital”
Military is not obligated to follow (and should not follow) an illegal order.
Granted, it may not turn out well for you down the line, especially in the hyper-political military we now have.
Their choice was to follow what may be an illegal order or not follow it.
Why would military officers follow an order they think may be illegal?
Why would commanders give such an order?
These are all disturbing developments and points to very significant problems in the military down the ranks.
If they had refused I think it would have been easy for their command to second guess that decision (and charge insubordination), claiming that the Taliban were firing from it or near the hospital, thus justifying an attack. A damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.
That you are doing a CYA, and attempting to pass responsibility up the chain of command. The question adds heft to a "was just following orders" defense, if the issue finds its way to a tribunal.
If you refuse, your conscience is clear, and YOU are not responsible for shedding the blood of innocents,
goodness, this is not really that hard. If you, as the pilot and crew, decide not to drop on a specific target, then pick a different one very close by and drop on it.
Sorry Sir, I missed. End of discussion.
It’s a win win for Obama. If they refuse the order he dishonorably discharges them. I think we will see a lot more of this.
This is not going to end well for the US
Again, you’re shifting responsibility away from the crew who followed an immoral order. Personal responsibility matters.
You’re shifting blame from the commander in chief and the individuals who gave the order.
Do you care to explain yourself?
Yes Obama knew and the military brass knew all along it was a hospital. They thought some Pakistani was using it to communicate terrorist activities so they decided what the heck lets just take it out.
"I was only following orders."
