Back in Bible school ... I developed a message about Santa Claus
I forget how clever I worded it, but it goes something like;
Santa is Satan .. obliquely
Claus is cauls obliquely
some births are in a 'caul' ... a bag of sorts that is cloudy in color
A baby (if he could see) could not see through the cloud the mother provided (are you following this?)
Thus;
Santa Claus is a parentally provided (sanctioned) covering of the child's eyes so that the child cannot see properly
Christmas is Jesus' birthday (I'm NOT getting into the reality of the seasons, sheep in Israel and etc., etc)
And Jesus is not Santa Claus
But people seem too think they can pray, push three buttons, click their heels and turn around seven times and God is forced to satisfy thier prayer request.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF was done during the day, no costume, not necessarily on Halloween, just that week.
It didn’t compete with real Trick or Treating.

I did it one year, one day for a few houses circa 1971. I remember the cardboard slot box we folded up to make that took the coins.
Some of the most fun times of my life I had on Halloween — from early childhood well into adulthood even .... Never once was it ever about satanic worship or demonic crap.
Seems every year I would win the costume contests as well during my college years .... Then dressing my own kids up throughout the years — so many priceless memories and photos!
We hear about the weirdos in the news — but most good people are just all about the fun, the costumes, the candy, and celebrating the last time one can run around outside without freezing your bum Off.
I’m a NP now and I will ask the pediatric patients what they’ll be for Halloween ... Their eyes just light up talking about their plans ... I’m not sure what is so demonic about wanting to dress up, use your imagination, be with friends....
