Geo W Bush disqualified himself from Christ by saying (several times over the years) that “Christians and Muslims pray to the same God.”

The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob begs to differ with little Georgie.

And his Department of Homeland Security decided that right wing Christians were more of a terrorist threat than fundamentalist Muslims

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It would be nice if you backed that one up.

How many dead right wing Christians can you point to?

The last I looked there were a lot of dead jihadidts that Bush had something to do with

Now aside from this argument I often wonder if there was anyone in the Bush administration you (Bush haters) trusted or admired?

Was Dick Cheney a bad GOPe guy?
Was Rumsfeld an evil Muslim lover?

Surely there is someone out there that was in the administration you respect...(it lasted 8 years)
If so, why did they work with such an evil person?

It used to be on FR everyone seemed to agree that Ronald Reagan was the best.
In today’s climate I think there may be Reagan haters amongst us.

I know there are some who hate GHW Bush and he is deemed an evil Rino or some such thing.

Yet people here can somehow rationalize that Reagan was good and his VP was evil
I can’t see that happening...If Reagan was all I think he was I cannot see him making a deal with the devil.
In short I see a lot of Bush haters tied in knots over such inconsitancies.

What Trump should have said was that Bush immediately after 911 called islum a religion of Peace.Sep 17, 2001

Dumbest thing ever said by a U.S. President.

After 9/11 he could have kicked every living moslum out of America, built a wall in a damn month, nuked the f outta Iran, Iraq Syria Pakistan and anyone else he felt like making glow, passed any legislation he wanted......but instead he called the enemy a religion of peace.

I’m referring to Clinton passing on the opportunity to kill Bin Laden when he had the chance. Although neither Clinton nor Bush can be blamed for not forseeing 9/11, Clinton was the only one of the two who had an opportunity to kill Bin Laden, without the necessity of a large ground war, and passed on it.

This is so immature. I want to smack `em both with a wooden spoon and send them to bed with no dinner.

There’s a line between “political correctness is for sissys” and baiting someone on Twitter. And since when do DEM talking points have a place in the Republican primary?

Donald could be slamming Jeb on SO many things, why even bother with the “W’s fault” mantra?

You're kidding, right? Everyone knows Reagan was forced into putting Bush on the ticket and that Bush hated Reagan and conservatives. Bush was running things and getting us into foreign trouble while Reagan was recouping in the hospital. HW is pro abortion, and anti NRA, pro Amnesty pro UN the prototypical RINO.

He even dissed Reagan and conservatives to that old KGB murderer, Gorbechev:

“By the way, in 1987, after my first visit to the United States, Vice President Bush accompanied me to the airport, and told me: “Reagan is a conservative. An extreme conservative. All the blockheads and dummies are for him, and when he says that something is necessary, they trust him. But if some Democrat had proposed what Reagan did, with you, they might not have trusted him.”

Jeb’s tweet (and again.. WTF are these two doing, fighting on Twitter? Such antics are better left to Kardashians) was in response to a comment Trump made in an interview early today or yesterday.

Bush should have pushed for it in 2001 but he did not. Ever wonder why that is?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Maybe because the Mexican border had nothing to do with the hijackers from 9/11. They came into the US flying first class compared to these poor suckers who wade/walk across the Rio Grande. If the point of the wall is to keep well funded terrorists out of the US I think most will agree it won’t work.... It may slow down the poor South Americans but thats about all.

Bush tackled the problem at hand.

I have a friend who is an expert on Bio Warfare and we have talked at length about some of this....If the wall that Trump says he will build, gets built do you know what the next frontier is for illegals and terrorists?

America has a nice big coast line
Do you want to wall that off ?

I asked my friend how terrorists will hit us.

He said they just need to anchor their boats off of LA and wait for the wind to shift to the right direction. They then open their containers of pathogens and we are off and running

Im all for a wall, a fence, manpower, technology whatever it takes on our southern border but I don’t have any illusions that its gonna make us safer.

Sadly, I’m sure they (treasonous rat bastiges) are all enjoying this.

Keep pedaling ....Ive heard it all before

But if Reagan had any balls, he could have dropped Bush during the second election don’t ya think? Or maybe before the evil bastard was elected President, Reagan could have shouted “Stop! this man is not a true conservative....”
Sadly he did not do that

Poor poor Ronnie forced to go against his better judgement.and hang out with that evil guy

And wow ...The Nation ...now thats a source we can believe in

Last not to say I don’t believe your story about your conversation with GHW but you must have been really really palsy-walsy for him to confide in you.

Lucky you

You did understand that was Gorbachev repeating what HW had told him in 1987, right?

Are you a conservative, btw?

One thing is for sure. Thank goodness Bush was conservative because we are all a lot safer since he created an entire new (even bigger government) bureaucracy to protect us.

Although I am a little suspicious of how fast the whole thing was created. It's like there were already plans sitting in a drawer somewhere just waiting to be pulled out to get the stamp of approval...The offices, the computers, the programs, the personnel...Chertoff?

President Bush didn't give us the war on terror, they came to us

The 911 terrorists came to us because they were allowed in the US and had remained here illegally. They still come to us because nothing has been done to keep invaders out of the US. And his war on terror? They were all from Saudi Arabia. What have was done to bring the "war on terror" to the Sauds? They were GWB's best buddies.

If someone takes in a vicious pit bull as a pet and it attacks the children, do you blame the pit bull for being in their home?

You said "cool and clear thinking is going to help". Cool and clear thinking would be keeping invaders out of the US ! And GWB certainly was not on board with that.

For Trump to win the Presidency, it's about time we all got honest about GWB and Obama both being responsible for making the terror problem even worse.

You make sense! If some genius could maybe have connected the dots with Muslims taking flight lessons in the USA, who did not have any interest in learning how to land the plane, just steer it...

Apples and Oranges . . not even relevant to the issue being discussed which is events taking place during George W’s Presidency. With all due respect, Boogieman, the comparison doesn’t fit.

dear boogie,

‘The President’ gets briefed about all the threats, by the CIA, NSA, and FBI, on a daily basis, even back then.

Bush was President. Yes, it was nine months into the office, but the threat analysis has been going on since the days of Truman.

It happened on his watch.

In the end, I don’t need someone who is my buddy in the white house, I want a butt kicker. I really don’t care what Trump says, they are just words. Its the actions that matter.

I agree

I expect this will benefit Trump in that he is even more clearly standing up to the elite powers that be/have been.

I don’t blame Bush for 9/11, as he didn’t personally run the whole intelligence gathering/analysis apparatus. But it’s a fair response for Trump to make to El Jebbe’s asinine “kept us safe” remark.

I agree

You’re dreaming. I understand that it seems more pleasant, but you’re dreaming.

W couldn’t even bring Bin Laden to justice. It took freaking *Obama* to do that, which shows how pathetic his response really was.

From personally running and hiding on the day to telling Americans that our contribution to the War on Terror was to keep on shopping to bungling the war in Iraq, he was an absolute disaster. If only we had had a real conservative in office when it happened.
