Exactly. Clinton’s 90s were a “holiday from history.” We’ve been paying for Clinton’s holiday ever since.

Islamic terrorists started attacking us long ago. Trying to take a mulligan on one punch because it was particularly effective is pretty disingenuous.

Okay fine.

That doesn't change the objective fact that GWB did not keep us "safe."

Perhaps I wasn’t clear — I meant JEB was being disingenuous. I am agreeing with you.

The Bush family bootlickers won’t like this comment, but Trump is right. He is just stating a fact.

He is in a war against the Bush family and he is not the kind of person who holds anything back.

Politically this is brilliant. Bush is very unpopular and Trump can tie both Jeb and Hillary to him. Hillary voted for the Iraq war. Trump is thinking ahead.

That’s a low blow, man.

Yeah! No low blows, malicious slander or political backroom tricks dirty for Bush. But Trump is open game folks!

Have at it!!

Trump said he wanted to be nice.
If he really wanted to be nice he would have not made those comments on twitter. A president has to show some restraint at times. Trump is not showing any restraint at all.
Now having said that, I would be fine with Trump saying something about the border should have been secured after 9/11.

As others have well noted, GWB WAS warned in advance, but changed nothing about our defense posture.

Afterward, there are highly credible arguments as to the focus and overall effectiveness of his next moves.

Bin Laden was behind it, but GWB didn’t zero in on him; he got distracted with Iraq and dragged us through the whole “Where’re The WMD’s?” debacle, from which subsequent factual discoveries left him only partially exonerated.

Saudi Arabia backed up the hijackers, but GWB never confronted them about it, nor did he ever demand any form of recompense from them.

AND — as if that weren’t enough — his administration left us very likely forever saddled with “Mineta’s Morons”: the TSA, and a whole new FedGov conglomerate called the Department of Homeland Defense; BOTH of which are roundly and rightly REVILED.

NONE of those follow-on actions make me FEEL any safer, nor do any of them actually MAKE me any safer; they only cost me more tax money. [spit!]

Nearly fifteen years on, and we’d have been far better off wringing the Saudi’s necks over the 19 hijackers, and focusing global intel on bin Laden instead of letting him fade the heat under the auspices of our Paki “friends.”

Donnie also said:

‘I Keep Whining and Whining’ Until I Win

“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”

“I’m smarter than any of them—and I can prove it. They’re all just as stupid as the stupid people running the government right now.”

“The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.”

what a GUY!!!

You don’t like politicians for telling the truth? It did happen on President Bush’s term although Clinton should have taken care of that nut way before that. I have voted Republican ever since I voted in a 1960 mock election in high school. I am very, very conservative but the truth is the truth. Go Trump.

It's an easy shot for someone who has never had anything to do with national security.

Speaking of national security, how crazy was it when Bush's Homeland Security boss Chertoff was found to have people who entered the country illegally wandering around his residence? During war time?☺

How ya like that national security johnny?

How about when Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House while flooding the country with tens of millions of illegals during war time?

Or allowing in more Muslims AFTER 911 than the previous two decades prior to 911.

How ya like that national security Johnny?

“Trump is not showing any restraint”

President Romney showed restraint. He also said that Bush kept the country safe. Not many people bothered to vote for BS that everyone knows is not true.

True, but still a cheap shot of an administration in power eight months most of which was obstructed by democrats while being formed. Donald gets a demerit.

They received direct warnings of an impending attack. People under him were unable to even communicate the same warnings they gave to the President to the FBI. Why'd it take an attack to be aware and fix all taht?

The guy is congenitally determined to go on a high-wire walk with outrageous, potentially offensive, high-risk comments

Criticism is valid. Bush administration received warnings about impending attacks and even intelligence on persons of interests within the country. Dysfunction between agencies was apparent. Not to mention Bush's soft spot for the illegal alien invasion and "immigrants" in general. You can't blame everything on the Democrats.
