I am having problems with their media creation tool.
THANKS!!
nothing but aggravation to upgrade a friends laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10!!
Must. Not. Post link to silly website.
Friends dont let friends download Windows Anything.
I did my laptop a week or so ago while I was in the hospital after a heart attack. I had a minor network connectivity issue, because they send you to an ‘agree to terms’ page before you hit the net. No issues beyond that.
Go to , windows (C) drive ,windows , softwaredistribution ,then delete everything in Download folder. Then open Command Prompt(Admin) and type wuauclt.exe/updatenow and it should download Win 10 in windows update
Anything that’s free is worth what you pay for it.
I need a stand alone ISO
It's not that much faster than 7, (if at all).
Ya lose several valuable Free apps, which you will be allowed to buy, and you will be spied upon and solicited without end.
I am fine using windows 7. This is for a friends laptop.... to upgrade it out of some problems.
Step one: Don’t install anything from Google, especially Chrome. :)
Upgrading to 10 is like buying a 2016 car and then putting it's guts into a 2012 model. It MAY work..but overall..not as good as the new one.
I’ll be interested in the .iso as well once the rumored October patch is released.
Instructions from PCWorld on how to get the ISO.
You do have to download via the Microsoft media creation tool.

Ah so, ...
This should be the exact page you need:
With instructions, you can select 32 or 64 Bit downpage.
FYI You can install 10 without a COA or product code for about 30 days by selecting recommended settings and “do this later” on product code prompt each time the product code prompt pops up, then you can “activate later” when you have ironed out all the bugs, you just can’t customize the background screen until you activate.
^^^^^ This! ^^^^^
I've had to help family and friends revert back to Windows 7 when they did not like Windows 10 at all. At least they have 30 days to switch back if they do not like it. Personally, I'd stick with Windows 7 till support runs out, as it is one of the best operating systems Microsoft has come up with, IMO.
Disclaimer: I prefer Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Zorin, Mint) but when I use Microsoft Windows operating systems, I prefer Windows 7. Microsoft got that one right and really no reason to upgrade unless you have to, IMO.
