article’s closing statement.

“Until Google re-architects Android to support centralized, device-agnostic updates, we just don’t see a solution to Android’s security problems.”

You do realize that Apple has sold approximately 1.3 BILLION iOS devices. . . that's one hell of a lot of gay sex lovers. . . about 1/5th of the world's populations. Seems you might be a bit exaggerating, don't you think?

Or should we instead make the conclusion that 99% of the people who post comments like yours are not too bright, making stupid, biased statements based on no evidence whatsoever?

Some of the blame can be laid at Google's feet, but a lot more has to be laid at the feet of the manufacturers and carriers who control the distribution of updates. Google can push out security fixes until it is blue in the face, but it cannot force the manufacturers or carriers to get the fixes to the users of the devices. . . and even the best of them may take months to finally make the security update available to their device users. The worst never do, or made devices that were not even updatable!

They're all insecure. If they use an internet browser, they're insecure. If they don't have a trusted computing base, they're insecure. If they have any components manufactured in China (or other untrustworthy locations) in the phone, they're insecure.

Any application you access via web browser is insecure.

Most companies in regulated industries with high value data and information approach security from a liability standpoint. They know their applications are at risk and insecure. If they take appropriate precautions they won't make their systems secure but they WILL prevent criminal charges against them when they have a breach. They'll be subject to civil suits, but not criminal.

The Problem with the Android Operating system is that on devices over 2 years old the manufacturers No longer download new upgrades to their equipment. So the Owner is stuck with a potential security disaster in his hands.

There is also No known way to download an update yourself.Especially if your an Android neophyte like i am.

These Manufacturers should be held accountable for any security attacks that occur on their equipment since they won’t assist in maintaining the security of their Operating system

Be more specific, Definition 1 or 2?

gay ɡā/ adjective

1. (of a person, especially a man) homosexual. "that friend of yours, is he gay?" synonyms: homosexual, lesbian; informal queer "gay men and women"

2. lighthearted and carefree. "Nan had a gay disposition and a very pretty face"

Now I don't use an Android or Apple phone, but personally I have always liked my sex lighthearted and carefree

Unsecured - especially of a computer system not protected against attack or other criminal activity.

I don't know for a fact that the terminology "insecure" came from Cambridge. The headline was from Ars Technica, a website run by Geeks. I suspect that the paper written at Cambridge probably uses the proper Queen's English. . . or some semblance of it. I agree with you.

Your claim is false. The iPhone is secure and the data received or sent is encrypted to a 256 bit AES standard that requires 5.62 undecillion years to go through all possible passcodes with only 16 characters entangled with the UUID of the device.

The Hacker Team, the company that sells the tools to break into mobile devices to the NSA, FBI, other police agencies around the world, admits they have tools that can break into every mobile OS except un-jailbroken Apple iOS. They have hit it and bounced every time. To put it bluntly, they have not succeeded in breaking into iPhones or iPads. . . and have nothing to sell for that platform to these agencies.

More of our resident Anti-Apple liar. DennisW has never owned an Apple iPhone or iPad. . . he has repeatedly claimed he will never own one, so he's never "been there or done that". Of course, this data comes from University of Cambridge (England) via published in Ars Technica, not mythical "Cupertino Crapweasels", so there's another lie from our resident liar.
