Heard that Hulu has a lot to offer. LOL After just purchasing a new Smart tee vee, DH purchased a Ruku. We’ve just begun the learning curve for those devices. He more knowledgeable than I. I could live with OTA stations myself. The sub-stations in the area play so many old shows and old movies on Movies TV Network,Antenna, Retro, Hot, Me,This,Grit. Those are fondly remembered. The television and I born about the same time so those types of shows are some of my favorites and encompass the basis of my childhood.

I believe the John Wayne quote is from “Big Jake”. A great movie. He may have said it in the other, too, but it was my favorite line in Big Jake.

“What we have here is a failure to communicate.”

DH uses that one frequently..and most of the time he speaks the truth. We both speak the same language but failure abounds. LOL

Great stuff folks, and great memories.

"Weebles Wobble, But They Don't Fall Down" Toy commercial that may only apply to Boomers.
"Say hello to my little friend." Scarface
"Too infinity and beyond." Toy Story
"I got you, Babe". The ever repeating clock-radio music to Groundhog Day.
"You talking to me?" Taxi Driver
"I have had it with these motherf_____g snakes on this motherf_____g plane!" Snakes on a Plane

"They Live had the greatest, longest, kickass fight scene of all times."

A great topic for another thread. Also, car chases, and gunfights. Feel free to start the article.

I'll start with "Fast & Furious" franchise for car chases. It's probably the standard now of car action.

For gunfights I will contribute "Tombstone" and "Open Range". I tend to go more realistic than many with a large shootouts where only the good guys hit the bad guys, even if out gunned. Think "Open Range" is probably my favorite and looks most realistic. But then, "Lone Survivor" was very realistic.

"Where's The Beef?" Wendys commercial

That one seems to have mostly died out. Older folks still know it, but not so much the young. Commercials don't seem to have the kind of staying power when it comes to this kind of thing, because eventually folks who remember it are replaced by younger folks who haven't. Sometimes kids will know it, but really have no idea where it came from.

Regarding the Ghostbusters one, I was a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I remember a scene really late in the show where one of the characters, who's supposed to be a vampire several hundred years old (Spike), was talking to someone about that and asked the question, "who're you gonna call?", then he stopped, paused for a second and asked, "are we ever going to be able to use that phrase again?" Made me laugh.
