Lovely, Amy. This has been a difficult summer for those in many areas of our country. Thank goodness for autumn.

This has been a rough summer.
Seems like so much going on but I could not tell you why I got so far behind. Hoping autumn will bring us a less stressful time.
I love your poem this morning. Thank you.

Well come 7:30 AM I’m due to have this done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK-DPl0shsI. If it is as bad as the facet block I will be screaming my head off. I am hard to numb.
They don’t know if it will work or not. Well after 5 failed back nerve blocks I doubt it will work, but it is a dumb step I have to go through to get a new hip before the stupid thing breaks and is a worse repair.
Just thought I’d let you know what was going on.

We Have Fruit!
Oct 2, 2015
I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build.
Joshua 24:13
The young mother sighed as she scraped together lunch for her 3-year-old daughter. Spying the empty fruit basket on the table in their tiny kitchen, she sighed and said aloud, If we just had a basket of fruit, I would feel rich! Her little girl overheard her.
Weeks passed. God sustained the small family. Still, the struggling mom worried. Then one day her little girl bounded into the kitchen. Look, Mommy, were rich! she exclaimed, pointing at the full fruit basket on the table. Nothing had changed except that the family had purchased a bag of apples.
When Joshua, the leader of the Israelites, was about to die, he shared a message from the Lord that recounted all God had done for them. And he noted, You lived in the wilderness for a long time (Josh. 24:7). Then he said, [God] gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant (v. 13). Joshua set up a large stone to remind Israel of Gods provision (v. 26).
Like the Israelites, after a time of challenge and scarcity, that family now lives in a different place and enjoys fruit trees in a spacious yard, planted years earlier by a previous owner. If you visit them, youll find a bowl of fruit in their kitchen. It reminds them of Gods goodness and how a 3-year-old infused her family with faith, joy, and perspective.
Thank God for how He has provided in the past. Thank Him for what He will do. Ask Him what He wants you to do. Then trust Him.
Remembering Gods provision for yesterday gives hope and strength for today.
In Genesis 15, God promised Abraham that He would give his descendants possession of a great stretch of land that was occupied by other people. Several hundred years later, under the leadership of Joshua, God fulfilled His promise, and the people of Israel took possession of the Promised Land. In todays passage, Joshua reminds the Israelites that it was not by their own military might that they did this, but it was God who gave them the land. As a result of Gods provision (defeating the armies of the other people), Joshua reminded them to fear and serve the Lord. J.R. Hudberg

I'm also saying prayers for the victims of the latest assault on Christians in Oregon.

I’m enjoying this cooler weather. Plus we are getting some rain in the mountains so those awful fires may be out soon. Our air quality has been awful but after the light rain yesterday it is much better today.
How are things going in NY? You ready to come west again, young man? ;>)

I would like this fall weather to stay till February... :)
I also hope you guys get more rain, I have watched the fires and the drought.
Not good at all.
My sister and brother live south of you.
Carol in Orange county and Charles somewhere around LA
Also a brother in law in San Diego.
I would love to come west again but now with strong family roots here it would be difficult.
If and when we move again it will be toward the south,
Maybe North or South Carolina.

I’m hoping for a strong El Nino this year. We need lots of rain and a huge snow pack in the Sierras.
We had to lower our pump this year but did not have to dig a new well. So many trees dying on the west side because of this liberal caused drought. If they would approve a new dam or two, water would go into the reservoirs to be used when needed.
We would like to move but doubt that we ever will. We have thought of moving to the area south of Reno. With family in and near Fresno, we cannot move too far away.
Has the water shortage affected your relatives in southern California? I think the Carolinas would be a nice place to live.

Good morning, Meg. Thank you.
69 sounds heavenly. We will probably get in the low 80s. It was a nice 57 when we took Marissa to the bus at 7:00 this morning.
Thank you for being here everyday with you wonderful graphics and special greetings.
I appreciate all that you do.
