Good. I hope it turns into a CAT 5, threads up Chesapeake Bay, and slams right into D.C. and returns it back to a swamp.

Projected track is further east than it was before.

Joaquin is expected to make a right turn and speed up the Eastern Seaboard. That would be a left!

The only hurricane I was ever in was while I was working in DC. Shook the several feet thick hundred year old walls of the town house for quite a few hours. And we were hardly in the worst part of the storm. I’m not sure - the memory must be going - but I think it was Isabel.

Latest from NHC has it only a tropical storm when it hits Delmarva. Of course that could change.

Damaging Baltimore is only going to make the race of professional victims riot again with a new excuse to steal and destroy private property. Deja Vu New Orleans all over.

"Unless drastic changes occur in today's computer models, the Maryland and the entire mid-Atlantic region could experience impacts that exceed Isabel in 2003, Irene in 2011, Sandy and Hazel in 1954," Foot's forecasters wrote, in all caps and underlined.

The folks with the "turn right", "turn left" glib comments here just confuse the heck out of everyone. Post pictures or discuss the latest track please.
Hurricanes are serious business.

Yes, if it actually goes over DC like the Weather Service currently predicts, as my power goes out and my basement floods, I can always console myself that there is not a location more deserving of a bad storm than DC.

NY ping.
Even though all the focus is on where this will make landfall, the precipitation shield will extend quite a ways out, and. PA and NY lay beyond that.
I remember the hurricane that caused all that flooding in Corning, NY.
I also have kids living closer to the Atlantic coast than we are and they’re likely to see quite a bit of action from this storm.

Joaquin: 1. Origin: Hebrew meaning: God will establish. 2. Origin: Polish meaning: The Lord exalts.
Joaquin seems to have eerily intensified much like Katrina did shortly after a legislative vote against Israel.

Calm down, folks, it's looking more and more like it's going out to sea.

It’s now a Cat 4. Is it wrong to hope it takes out the white house and a paint store and piles the rubble in a rainbow colored heap?
Besides Trump can build a new one.

I heard the local ABC news radio liberal say that hurricanes this late in the season were “unusual” and “not normal”. I thought to myself, that’s a real dumb statement, like saying snow in January and February was unusual. Then it hit me - he was prepping for his already written “hurricanes caused by climate change” stories.
