It seems like a good time to make a musical celebration of this happy occasion of his leaving office. Here are some teary tunes for the crybaby. (Maybe you can add other "crying" songs to the list.)
Bye-Bye Boo-Hoo Blubberman! "Hit The Road Jack"- Ray Charles "Crying Time"- Ray Charles "Cry Me A River"- Julie London "96 Tears"- Question Mark & The Mysterians "A Little Bitty Tear Let Me Down"- Burl Ives "Cry Baby"- Janis Joplin "Cry Baby Cry"- The Beatles "Why Baby Why"- George Jones "Tears Of A Clown"- Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "The Tracks of My Tears"- Smokey Robinson & The Miracles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"- The Beatles "Cry to Me"- Solomon Burke "Ain't That A Shame"- Fats Domino "Tear In My Beer"- Hank Williams Jr. "Trouble Of The World (No More Weeping And Wailing)"- Mahalia Jackson |
`It’s No Longer My Party, But I’ll Cry If I Want To’
(You would cry too if you were a big, fat Boehner baby)
“All Cried Out” by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam with Full Force. (”...I gave you all of me. How was I to know that you would weaken so easily?”)
That Halloween mask is creepy as crap, by the way!
Thanks!! I haven’t heard that song in ages. Still a classic “slow jam” from my H.S. days! :)
Good crying song.
Blast from the past! I always found that video disturbing when I was a kid; turns out I still do. Now it reminds me of a commercial for Pseudo Bulbar Affect Disorder or some such condition. *Also disturbing*
LOL!
OMG, it does.
;D -— :’(
“Morphing” was bleeding edge computer technology, back then.
So G&C practically beat it right to death.
;D
LOL! Thanks!
I read between the lines and took it context :)
I was hoping you would share some of your expertise on this thread. I always learn something from your classic posts.
Regarding a couple of the songs you've posted here, I've heard other artists who covered them later (such as Elvis & Ray Charles), and some I've heard a different song with the same title (like this song - "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying"), but most of them are new to me, and it is great to encounter them.
” A Tear” - Gene McDaniels
“Rain Drops” - Dee Clark
“Town Crier” -
“The Gypsy Cried” - Lou Christie
“Big Girls Don’t Cry” - 4 Seasons
“I’m Sorry I Made You Cry” - Connie Francis
“Many Tears Ago” - Connie Francis
“Crying in the Chapel” - Elvis Presley1960/65
“Don’t Cry” - Seal, 1996
“Tear Drop” - Johnny & Santo 1959
“As Tears Go By” - Rolling Stones 1966
“Don’t Cry Out Loud” - Melissa Manchester 1979
“Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” - Madonna, dedicated to the Pope
Ones you may never have heard of: from a book
“Cry” - Waterfront 1989
“Cry” - Godley & Crème 1985
“Cry” - Ronnie Dove 1966 (out of Baltimore)
“Cry Baby” - Garnet Mimms & the Enchanters
“Cry Baby” - Bonnie Sisters 1956 (missed that one back then)
“Cry Baby Cry” - Angles 1962
“Cry for Help” - Rick Astley 1991 (I like Rick)
“Cry for You” - Jodeci 1994
“Cry Like A Baby” - Box Tops 1968 - good song; saw them
“Cry Me A River” - Julie London - 1955 already listed (she was hot, hot, hot)
“Cry me a River” - Joe Cocker 1970
“Cry to Me’ - Betty harris 1963 (Soloman Burke was great on this song)
“Crying” - Aerosmith 1993
“Crying” - Vixen 1989
“Crying” - Roy Orbison - 1961 - have the record
“ - Jay and the Americans 1966 (saw jay Black - the man could belt out a song)
“ - Don McLean - 1981
“Crying Game” - Boy George 1993 - That’s for Boehner, fur shure.
“Crying in the Rain” - Everly Brothers 1962
“Crying Time” - Ray Charles - 1966 - took my daughter to see him (wanted her to hear one of the greats of R&R)
Specifically For Boehner — “I Go To Pieces” - Peter & Gordon
“Ain’t It a Shame” - Fats “THe Fat Man” Domino - 1955 (Saw him with Jerry Lee Lewis. One great show!)
“Sad Mood” - Sam Cook - 1960 and lastly,
“WIPEOUT” - Safaris - 1963
A lot of these songs I know by heart but I did use “The Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits”, Joel Whitburn, for the long list, (1955-2000).
Unfortunately I can’t find my other Record Book that also went by year and had a list by title. More like the top 20 hits. It is supposed to be next to my desk but books on the KGB, the American Left, and autographed astronaut books have taken over my bookscase.
One day I’ll find it.
Meanwhile enjoy Rock & Roll at Boehner’s expense.
