For folks considering doing the 9.0.1 update, you might mention that it's TINY (relatively speaking) -- about 25MB in the case of my iPhone 5c and iPad 2 -- and that it does require a restart of the device.

You just did. Thanks.

Okay, first time I experienced an odd effect after an update.

On my iPad 2, after the update/restart completed, I noticed that it was stuck in "portrait" orientation for probably a minute -- it wouldn't rotate to "landscape" when I turned it around (and yes I checked the switch and switch setting). And when it finally did respond to turning by rotating the home page icon array, the small font top line of the home page that says "iPad {time} {charge}" stayed stuck at the top of what would be portrait mode, even after the rest of the display had rotated to landscape! Very weird looking, with the top line running vertical along the left side in landscape mode.

I forced a restart and all is well now, so it's not a big deal, but it was a "first time for everything" moment for my experience with iDevice updates.

The iPhone 5c did not exhibit this behavior, so I figure it's something about the old iPad. Maybe something in the accelerometer?
