Wednesday, September 23, 2015 · 2:04 pm · 15 Comments

Apple today released iOS 9.0.1 which contains bug fixes including:

• Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
• Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
• Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
• Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data

iOS 9.0.1 over the air or via iTunes using Software Update.

To update your device over the air:
1. Plug your device in to power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi.
2. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
3. Tap Download and Install. If a message asks to temporarily remove apps because iOS needs more space for the update, tap Continue or Cancel. Later, iOS will reinstall apps that it removed. If you tap Cancel, learn what to do next.
4. To update now, tap Install. Or you can tap Later and choose Install Tonight or Remind Me Later. If you tap Install Tonight, just plug your iOS device in to power before you go to sleep. Overnight, your device will update automatically.
5. If asked, enter your passcode.

To update your device using iTunes:
1. Connect your device to your computer.
2. Open iTunes and select your device.
3. Click Summary, then click Check for Update.
4. Click Download and Update.

You shall know a paid marketer by their fruits.

There exist paid detractors, too. And you're looking a lot like one, spending an awful lot of time writing nasty rhetoric against someone minding his own business (and yes, starting threads others appreciate, and staying on topic, is minding one's own business). Heck, the way you're following Swordmaker around just to insult him sounds more like stalking; since there are people who _do_ like what he's doing, and trying to have interesting discussions about a fair topic, how about you just stay away from threads you aren't interested in?

I mostly do stay away. I jump in a couple times a month just to shine a spotlight on the paid marketer dirtying up our forum every day, multiple times a day.

I’ll except your reasoning if you will accept that the same.issue affects Microsoft raised to an order of magnitude since they have no control over what people install.on their PC’s.

Why, are you paid to police the forum?
There are recurring threads I don’t like, but I just stay away because it seems others do appreciate them and it’s not my job to shut down someone else’s free speech.
Swordmaker does a fine and appropriate job, which many of us like and appreciate. Quit being needlessly disruptive. As for “a couple times a month”, seems a lot more than that, and when several of your type jump in the disruptions become frequent and obnoxious - please stop.

Frequent and obnoxious? Like the dozens of unpaid Apple ads Swordmaker posts every week on our site? Yeah - that is pretty obnoxious for those of us looking for, you know, conservative news.

At least the stuff I post is buried in his threads and not ad after ad stuffed in between the important articles. But hey... a paid social marketer’s job is never done, is it?

700 FReepers are signed up to his ping list.
Many others also like seeing his posts.
There’s more to FR than just conservative news, and that which isn’t doesn’t make it hard to find that which is.
Not your job to police the forum. Quit being disruptive.

Who’s doing the policing now, eh? Plenty of Freepers also hate having a paid social marketer on the site based on the number of people who call him out on it.

Do you have any proof that he’s a “paid social marketer”?
No.
Judge not, lest you be judged.
Over 700 people want to see what he posts.
You don’t have to spend your limited time interfering therewith.

Oh, so, your defense is that, others don’t mind your constant posting for Apple and your constant defenses on behalf of Apple? From what I’ve seen, there are still plenty of people here who are not in love with Apple as you are. And, most of those who you claim don’t mind Apple threads and Apple posts and Apple trolls like you, re likely not as informed about Apple and general tech issues, as I am.

Apple is nothing special, and what makes them ‘special’ is that, they’ve managed to sell tech that isn’t even better than the competition makes. Apple sells their stuff at higher prices, and that’s to create the perception that their products are of premium value, while their just the same as others and in many cases, even behind the others.

But, a troll needs to sleep at night, and I know that you’ll sleep better each day that you don’t have to put up with somebody telling it like it is about Apple. So, how about getting a real life, and if you are going to be supporting Apple so much, why not get paid for it. Oh yeah, I forgot that, you like the creepy factor of loving inanimate objects. like Apple and Apple products. Yuck, man! You really must be creepy in ‘real life’.

You really must be an Apple employee, designated to be Apple's internet troll, looking for all negative posts and comments, and ready with your list of issues and fixes, while making sure that, Apple is recognized for being bug free and the 'bestest' ever.

Ok, who is your straight man?

I didn’t realize that upadating would change my Siri preferences.

All is good now. :-)

It shouldn't but It depends on how much the update has to delete to free up memory to do the install.

No, I am not making a "defense" you idiot. . . because the 700 others "don't mind" because they asked me to do it, which is what you don't seem to understand at all. Why should they mind me doing what they want me to do? Your claim that I should "defend" something merely because you don't like it, makes you a the troll. You are not the keeper of FreeRepublic, you are not in charge here. You are not the censor of what they can see, read, and enjoy.

And why should you, who admit does not use Apple products, know ANYTHING about Apple experientially to be able to claim that it isn't any better when all the reports of customer satisfaction, longevity, build quality, etc., put their products head and shoulders above the competition, and even when you compare pricing at the high end of the competitions' lines, Apple products are competitive in pricing, putting the lie to your claim they are "over priced". . . that makes you a spreader of innuendo and rumors and FUD, nothing more. The members of the Apple Ping List have asked straight information that is informed, not the same old ignorant crap they get from people like you that just do not know what they are talking about spouting talking points they've heard for years from the competition, especially when they know it is not true at all because they have owned Windows PCs and don't want subject themselves to that pain again. They get all of that in the Main Stream Media. They want curated information that knows the truth. That is what I am trying to provide for them with my expertise on the subject from years of actually working with Macs and iOS devices as well as Windows and Linux. They can loads of ignorant, uninformed, inexperienced opinion everywhere else. They don't need to get it in Apple threads AND be insulted and told they are stupid from their Fellow Freepers who are acting like ignorant asshats.

No matter who many excuses you come up with, and no matter how much rationalization and how much justification you dream up, you’re still an Apple troll. You’re the only one here looking to defend Apple as ardently as anyone I’ve ever encountered anywhere. You are beyond a cult follower. You are as fanatical about Apple as a member of ISIS is about his cause. But, you will never recognize how far gone you are, which, again, is the same as a Muslim jihadist would ‘think’, though about different matters.

He’s posting focused, well-presented, well-reasoned threads which several hundred FReepers have positively expressed interest in, and defending sensible discourse against wanton trolling.
He’s not following people around insulting them.
