GOP to Trump: "You're a Liberal!" (vanity)
(none) | 9/16/2015 | (self)

Posted on 09/16/2015 3:51:20 AM PDT by BobL

I've been struggling to figure out what line of attack will be used to try to take down Trump at tomorrow night's debate, and I think that they will all line up (other than Cruz, of course) trying to make the case that Trump is a liberal, based on both his past positions and some of his recent statements. The goal here, of course, is to try to instill doubts among us Trump supporters, as they understand the longer Trump stays on top, the harder it is going to be to topple him - either by swaying opinion, or rigging the convention. They likely have figured out that they can't goad him real-time into making a fool of himself in a debate format as he controlled himself well in the first debate - it was only outside of that debate that Trump has launched his real attacks that have gotten him all of the attention, so they won’t waste their time trying to goad him again.

Furthermore, although it took 3 months of focus groups by Frank Luntz, I think word is finally trickling in to the GOP bosses that Americans are really fed up with Illegals and that attacking Trump from the left on Immigration only works to his advantage, and that trying to match him on Immigration, well, the other candidates simply aren't up to it (i.e., Scott Walker seeing the need to build a wall only on the Canadian border and taking 3 positions one Immigration issue in one week; Bush saying that Anchor Babies only come from China, etc.), or they just can't help lapsing back to their default positions of Open Borders (Walker secretly promising Big Money to support Amnesty, Carson now coming out for Amnesty and using Democrat talking points, Rubio unable to pull himself away from the Senate Amnesty Disaster that he helped orchestrate, etc).

So about all that is left is trying to attack Trump from the right on other issues and trip him up there, with the hope of getting a legendary Rick Perry type comment of people "having no heart" (when it comes to illegal immigration), or a Bush comment like illegal immigration is "an act of love". They'll try to goad him into saying something like that regarding something recent, like the gay marriage ruling from the Court, the Kentucky Court Clerk situation, etc. It seems to be one of the only hopes left for them, and hopefully Trump is ready for that.

I suspect that their long-term plan is the following: As we (hopefully, in their eyes) move away from Trump, they (the GOP bosses) will permit any of the other candidates to take his place for a period of time (even Cruz, for that matter). Right now, since Carson is up, they're trying to get us to move to him - as you can tell by all of the puff pieces coming out about Carson. But after a while, a few weeks, once they're sure they've severed our bond with Trump, Karl Rove will deploy his whiteboard on Meet the Press and that will be the end of Carson. Carson will have served his purpose.

After that, we're left with Rubio, Bush, and Walker, with Biden coasting to another easy Democrat victory. But the GOP bosses will still be THRILLED - they prevented Trump, a bull in a china shop to them, from totally decimating their scam, and they will retain their incomes and plush offices for another 4 years. Sure a GOP victory would be nice, but a Trump defeat is all that matters to them now.

A master negotiator, nobody can dispute that, always goes into any scenario with his duck in a row, along with at least two more rows to pull out at any time.

At this point, we know the basis for his platforms that really matter. When they start the assault on him, all he has to do is smile and say “Next?”. Maybe not next, but he will find a way to project that it is a stupid question.

Here is another chunk of reality, there are only 4 possible presidential winners regardless of who wins the republican primary. Trump, Biden, Hillary or Sanders.

If Trump wins the primary, he will very likely win president.

If Trump loses the primary, there is no other GOP candidate that can win, which will insure one of the rats will win the white house. Cruz or Walker will be sabotaged by their own party if they were to miraculously win nomination.

I agree. The problem with this debate is there are going to be 11 candidates on the stage.

If 10 are there to just gang up on Trump, Trump will gain the most because people will see through the sabotage of Trump and identify with him.

At least 7 of those candidates need to go away. There should be only 4 left. Then we could have a debate with substance and forgo the antics. The 3 others would be able to rise or fall.

The over abundance of ankle biters who have no appeal make them all look bad.

Mark Steyn had some good advice for them last night. He basically said “sell what you have to offer and don’t try to be Trump, because you will fail.”

Already appears Jeb won’t listen to that advice.

How true that the politicians are bought off by foreign interests. But it is also the stupidity of many at the local, county and state level, whom have become career politicians.

Lets look at an example locally, I had a neighbor ask me to order 15 yards of gravel for his driveway when he returns this weekend with the Bobcat to spread it out. Lo and behold, because I am running for Mayor as an Independent, two out of three companies refused to make the sale to me because - Their reasoning is the fact i am not from the area originally and that I am going against the establishments Good Ole Boys Club. The third business, not only got the one contract for gravel, but a total of 4 jobs to haul gravel. The gravel is here now, and the complaining is going on about an outsider has taken away work from them and has called an outside company (within the same county) to deliver the gravel. The irony is that there are only 11,400 people in the county and the county has two distinctions. eastern portion and western portion. So now i am promoting the eastern business to take away work from the western business. My response to the Good Ole Boys was in a Letter to the Editor to the Local newspaper - basically stating the Good Ole Boys refused the opportunity to grant a job, because they are still angry about a east and west to the county of 11,400. What a welcome to people from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Connecticut whom are purchasing the second home as a get away spot for a weekend of either summer or winter sports! The family from Connecticut is ending their military careers and are moving closer to other family members and they only paid $8000.00 on a foreclosed home. Without the people whom own properties for pleasure or a retirement home, this community would cease to exist. There is not a street in this community where there is not less than two empty homes for sale.

The current GOP leadership rank and file (1) wants open borders, (2) funds Obamacare, (3) increases the debt ceiling every time it comes for a vote, (4) favors relations with Iran (they voted to flip the treaty provision to allow for a vote on the Iran deal with a sub majority of 41, (5) and fund planned parenthood.

And they have the nerve to say someone is not conservative. This goes for their mouthpieces in the media who never criticize their capitulation.

OK, so you don’t trust “professional Conservatives.” So how is it that you trust “Donald Trump”? What is it that he has said or has done that has engendered trust? Trying to take someone’s property from them using eminent domain? Becoming a Democrat when Obama became president, then becoming Republican when he wants to run for president? Being FOR partial birth (YES! partial birth) abortion BEFORE he was against it? Why don’t you elaborate for all of us, won’t you?

Jeb says he’s going to show us what low energy looks like tonight. I believe him because Jeb is weak. Trump is a better man and it’s going to show.

Trump may be a liberal in some senses, but he’s no establishment, Uniparty traitor, which is what the GOP is pushing on us.

In my years while working for the Marine Corps and Air Force civilian agencies I learned some of the key words and phrases used to describe those who did not “toe the line” for the political “ass kissers” that never went against bad or poor decisions made by higher management.

My favorite phrases and words were:

“He doesn’t row the boat with the rest of us.”
“He’s not a team player.”
“He’s a loose cannon.”
“He doesn’t fit will with the group.”

And....on and on and on.

What the phrases mean is that you don’t blindly follow the group or thoughts of the leader. You are dangerous for you think INDEPENDENTLY!

This is why the Republicans hate Trump...simply repeat the phrases shown above over and over again. You will see this “couched” in the debate tonight.

Saying Trump is a Liberal is not going to work, because most supporters would be saying well duh. The only any attack could work on Trump is to attack him on illegal immigration, which GOP won’t do because they’re on the wrong side.

Yep.

So if Trump wins, you believe only Trump’s chumps will be allowed on FReeRepublic?

Not to that point...yet. Someone had better stand up for what is right, or one of these days we're going to get a dictator. When we do, people have absolutely no clue has to what is going to happen to them because they have NO interest in studying history.
