Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson responded to fellow GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s accusations regarding his faith and positions on abortion in an interview broadcast on Friday’s edition of CNN’s “Situation Room.” Carson said, “it’s very easy for anybody to go back and investigate my past. And it’s very easy for them to see that, you know, my faith is not something that I come by lightly, and it has been an important part of my life. You know, fortunately I’ve written books, you know, ‘Gifted Hands’ came out in 1990. Read through that, you’ll see that faith has been a very important part of my life. So, I don’t think that that’s a very difficult one.” Reagrding Trump saying, he was “heavy into the world of abortion” Carson stated, “Well, I’ve made it very clear that, first of all, I’ve never done an abortion, and wouldn’t approve of it, and never have. Even when I was pro-choice. Personally, I was against it. Some of the research that was done, I obtained tissue, turned it over to the pathologist. Do they sometimes compare it with tissue blocks? Absolutely.” He added, “I can’t tell you where all their tissue blocks come from. I have nothing to do with it whatsoever. Every pathology department in the world has a host of tissue blocks that they compare things with, and you know, honestly if I went and inquired where everything [came] from…I would never have time to get any surgery done.”

“Carson started it, as is the case with all Trump’s opponents. Levin today played a bunch of the candidate’s insults toward Trump, including Carson’s insult of his faith. He also played a clip of Carley Fiorina making fun of Barbara Boxer’s looks. Priceless. “God what is that hair?’ So yesterday!” Is that really so much worse than “Look at that face”?? He also pointed out that the attacks on Trump are 10-1 and it really reflects badly on the GOP. Trump for the most part is just counter punching. Yet Ben with no provocation decided to pile on with the others. That’s not courage, that’s cowardice. We claim to be the party of faith, and just look us. Look at how our faith bearers are acting? And Trump told the truth. Carson was once pro-choice, which means he legally approved of abortions while he was in the medicine business. And he did this as a Christian, not before as is the case most who change their view on this. No big deal, but it does make him sound hypocritical when he criticizes others on their faith.”

My big problem with Carson is: I think that everybody is going to run all over him. Relentlessly. They’ll have him confused and rubber stamping by the end of the inaugural month.

As part of the big bruhaha about Trump saying Carson was an “O.K. doctor”, there was a thread here on FR yesterday saying that the low rating was because Carson at one point in his career, did research with fetal tissue.
Can anyone confirm or deny that?

Sad to see Carson is now just the GOPe’s “Magic Negro” to take out Trump. It won’t work. Only Trump can take himself out.
