Here’s my hypothesis: people, especially governments, like to gin up phony crisis so they make up obviously false stats to get support ($$$). Anybody that thinks 40% of the populace has diabetes is quite simply a moron. That study is a lie.
>> That study is a lie.
It is and it isn’t. Yes, 40% do have “pre-diabetes”, whatever that REALLY is. People also have pre-heart disease, pre-stroke, pre-cancer, and women have pre-pregnancy.
Likewise, 3 in 5 college girls will be raped, sexually assaulted, or stared at. We hear the rape part and say, “Oh my! That’s horrible.” But, most of those 3 will only be stared at.
Statistics is a cheap whore who will do anything for anyone for the right price. Only a fool asks them to go steady. People who believe these kind of studies are trying to put a ring on that whore.
It said diabetes or pre-diabetes. I have always believed that carbs and high fructose corn syrup are the reason there is so much obesity and diabetes and I think the gov’t is partially to blame for teaching kids that all those carbs are good for you.
Here’s my hypothesis: Most people don’t read beyond the headline & spoil their preconceived notions.
The link states “Almost 40 percent have pre-diabetes, meaning elevated blood sugar levels that could lead to full-fledged disease.”
Any diet high in Carbs/Sugar (typical American diet) will elevate blood sugar. Doesn’t mean all become diabetic, but look around you. we are a nation of fat asses. Look at pictures from the past. Public places were not filled with chairbusters up into the 70’s.
